Recently got back into CK2 with holy fury after not playing for a year or so. After about 3 months in game get the notification that the game failed to save for unknown reason. The game will invariably either crash or slow to a crawl and then crash within a few months of this error message popping up.

I did not have this issue when I played previously. I have tried going back to previous versions; 3.01.1, 3.1 etc. from 3.2.1. I have also uninstalled all mods, reinstalled the game/verified integrity of the game files from steam.

Any idea what might be causing this issue that I am missing?

Sorry, are you saying you did get this issue then still? Or did not?

What antivirus app do you use?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

I am still getting the issue when going back to previous versions. I also attempted to see if Holy Fury itself was the issue. The issue appears still regardless of whether I have Holy Fury enabled or not.

Just tried playing in the viking era as Jorvik. Ran fine, and did not have a save issue until after initial war was over. Then the slowing to a sputter and save issue showed up. Right before the issue showed up, the notifications/popups text box background became transparent. Don't know if that is relevant.

I use PC matic, I used this when I played previously without issue.

sorry for the delay, thanks for the assistance.

I see you are having a lot of trouble with geForce experience, and you're not on quite the latest driver. I suggest:

- uninstall the nVidia driver, and all associated utilities such as Experience
- reboot
- install the latest one from here:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
- reboot again

I've never come across that AV app you mention. Certainly make sure that ck2game.exe and steam.exe are in its exceptions list/whitelist.

Good luck!
