Impossible to arrange marriages in 1.01

After playing a few hours with version 1.00 today, I upgraded to 1.01. Suddenly it was impossible to arrange any marriages, eccept for your own King (In this case the King of Denmark - 1066). After this I started several new games as King of France and Denmark (1066 senario) but still with the same result! Even though my court is full of unmarried sons and daughters, they don't show in the list when a try to propose!

So far, the court member that was generated when one of my old court members died, was always a member of my dynasty.
It depends on who you play. Some provinces have many different random character dynasties, others don't :)

This is how it works: There is a file defining dynasties and linking them to provinces. This is ./db/dynasties.txt. There, each dynasty is linked to a list of provinces, like this:
Code:
dynasty = {
    id = { type = 12 id = 5016 }
    name = "de Riencourt"
    province = { 75 95 96 }
}
This means that random courtiers generated in the provinces 75, 95 and 96 (Boulogne, Amiens and Eu) may be of the dynasty de Riencourt. Some provinces have only one dynasty (yet) though...

Ahh, thanks for clarifying this. I almost always play the county of Köln so far, and the "of Köln" family seems to be the only dynasty there. :) Maybe I will mod a few others in. I wonder how many would be balanced.

Ok, here I am again. I dug a bit deeper into the dynasties.txt and found out that there are whole 11 dynasties attached to the county of Köln (ID 119)

von Saffenberg (88 89 119)
von Nörvenich (90 91 118 119)
von Baumberg (88 89 118 119 123)
von Stolzenberg (89 90 91 115 118 119 120 121 122 123 124 254 255)
von Altenbaumberg (89 90 91 115 118 119 123 124)
von Limburg (von Limpurg)
von Salm (115 118 119)
von Bikkenbach (119 120 121)
von Haynsberg (89 90 91 116 117 118 119)
von Sayn (119 120 121)
von Köln (119)

The generated four courtmembers you get at the start of the game (1066) are members of various families, but i can assure you that the replacement courtmember when one of the courtiers dies is always a "von Köln".

Unbalancing and complex, since I can get a huge amount of courtiers to my court fast, by marrying all those free familymembers and getting new ones. The amount of courtmembers grows exponentially, since every time one of my courtiers dies, i get a free new one plus my children, plus the spouses of all my "von Köln's" :)

Yep...and we may be able to post a fix for this shortly (as early next week perhaps).

I am able to offer marriages for a daughter, to a married Count! (He refused).

The married man popped up as "available" in the list, just as if he were on the internet! But then when the offer was made public he refused it, just as if he were on the internet!

So I'm telling you about this problem, just as if I were on the internet! Big of me, isn't it?

This may be related to the fact that his wife is in another court, which is a known bug.

The original problem is WAD as of 1.01.

I am closing.
