No lastname of characters (parents expecting child)

I just started my first game (v1.01), and I have looked through the three pages of reports.

I get in the log statements like "Robert and Ermrentrude are expecting a child". Given the problems we've seen in AARs with the constant re-use of names, even for children of the same parents, it's gonna be pretty tough to figure out who is doing what, where, without some kind of identifiers.

"Phillipe is now also Duke of Orleans" is no better in the sense that "Phillipe" has no surname, but his status as Duke of Orleans tells me where he is and "Duke" tells me who he is.

Also, under "Death by old age" "Gyda dies!"

OK, who the hell is Gyda? I click on her and find out she's a Danish Catholic (punishment for getting CK early!).

IMHO these boxes should not require us to click through to get the info.

"Gyda of Skallgetchjcelandishthingy, Danish Catholic, Steward of Gondor, has died." That would be more like it.

There are boatloads of people in CK, we need to get more than a firstname if information on their actions is to have any meaning.

No, but you can click on her in the message itself, so the Death messages aren't so bad.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE - My son Robert, unbeknownst to me (but beknownst to him) got married to Johanna (Stewardship 12, bright boy). So when I saw "Robert and Johanna are expecting a child" I had no idea that this was a momentous occasion in our realm.

Also, FWIW, it's not clear that a child who has a title isn't marriageable by his parent. The only notice I got (I did read the manual, but I have not re-checked it) is that his picture didn't show up as a choice when I tried to.

I am of the opinion a similar pop-up message should be made available for expecting children and births so that within the pop-up you can quick link to the persons involved... generally within 40 years my court is a massive breeding pool, so searching through for the people with that first name doesn't help me much.

The death notices with the quick links do help me... something similar needs to be there for births.
