Summary
867- France - Vassals going to Wrong / Non-Dejure Liege after Death of Charles II "the Bald"Description
In the 867 start, upon the death of Charles II, the realm is split into kingdoms of West Francia & Aquitaine. Some of the counties/rulers that are dejure West Francia become vassals of AquitaineSteps to reproduce
1. Start at 867 as Count Eudes of Bourbon.2. Move capital from Bourbon to Troyes (or any county owned that is dejure West Francia). Make new capital your primary title.
3. Give away your counties which are dejure to Aquitaine (Bourbon & Jaligny)
4. When your liege Charles II dies and his kingdom is split, you will become a vassal of Aquitaine, even though you are dejure West Francia and own no lands in Aquitaine. - (Note - I've watched this happen on numerous playthroughs, although while playing other rulers. I started moving Eudes out of Bourbon and giving away his Occitan lands at game start to clean up the borders when Charles II dies, but it appears the game still thinks Eudes is in Aquitaine)
