Heathens are Splintered Event

This event seems to be broken. I got offered this numerous times during campaigns in Iberia, the one time I selected the white peace option nothing happened. Here is roughly what happened.

  • I declared war on the Emirate of Almeria
  • I conquered all of their provinces in the Navarra region
  • I offered them a peace, with a small cash incentive
  • They refused the peace so I set about transporting troops to the south of Iberia to continue the battle
  • I got the heathens are splintered event and selected white peace - I was still at war with them after this however
  • Multiple times afterwards the event refired and I selected white peace each time
  • The only way out of the war was to annex them totallly

Looks like another broken event... :mad:

Are you sure you were not at war with several muslims at once (like the king + his vassals etc...) and that the white peace was only applied to one of them ?

I have to review the code of this event, but AFAIK, the scripting is correct.

That said, maybe the effect is broken. :(

Could you verify if you were not at war with more than one other non-christian countries, and that you did get a white peace with only one of them ?

Thanks,

Cat

The white peace effect in that event has never worked for me.
If possible it would be nice if someone check all the possible combination:

Catholic/Catholic (it's not supposed to fire)
Catholic/Pagan
Catholic/Muslim
Catholic/Orthodox

Because this white peace is supposed to happen for "enemy different_religion".

I'd like to know if the peace command is broken, or if the condition checking the religion is broken.

Thanks,

Cat

I have fought tons of Catholics and never had it fire.

It triggers when fighting Muslims. Never fought Orthodox or Pagan to this point.

I was only at war with the Emirate of Almeria, I was not at war with their vassals (though they did use some of their vassals troops to fight me) or any other powers of any description/religion.

I've fought a lot of pagans, but this event never fired!

I'm sure I've seen this work, perhaps in my very very short 1.00 game though.

However, the event uses :

character_event = {
id = 1105
picture = "event_intrigue"

trigger = {
condition = {
type = atwar
}
condition = {
type = not
value = { type = enemy_same_religion }
}
}
...some more...
action_b = {#Yes thank you!
effect = { type = peace value = not_same_religion }
}

I don't see any problems with this, apart from the fact that you don't know who to settle peace with unless this is described in a .csv file and thus in the Event itself (don't think so though.. perhaps on the button?).

No, this should work (contrary to the mercenary defect event)...

So maybe the "peace" effect is broken somehow...

Would this be related to piety?
I had negative piety and seems that making peace with muslim requires -25 piety...

I have about 900 piety.

I've got the same problem!! I was offered a white peace by this event numorous times in a game where I was at war with different pagan tribes at different times. The peace option didn't work which resulted in my defeat :mad: I've got version 1.01 and was playing as an unvassalised count of bornholm and I got the event during my wars against narva, sambia, viborg and kars. I was only at war with one of them at any time.

I get the event as a Catholic warring on a Bishopric. Note, I have positive piety.

Alas, I've not tested it where I take the white peace - later.

I've had this event fire several times before.Both when I'm fighting muslims, and pagans, it has never worked when I choose white peace.

I've had this event many times when at war with muslims (as a catholic state), and the white peace has never worked.

Fixed in 1.02
