Sometime ago i can remember much fuss about a possible 9th player. Is this is a rumour? Would it be possible?
I think Mp games would profit much from that.

It would be very much cool, but I wouldn't hold my breath - it would require a major rewrite of much of the interface, at the very least.
 
15-20 would be sufficient.:)

I was wondering if EULOOP was the open-source EU clone there had been whispers about. Although it's more likely to be something else.
 
I did look into it before, but never got the time...

Now I spent some hour checking stuff over...

The bandwidth costs could be huge for a big game, and the interface can't really fit too many players...

Technically the game should now be able to support 24 players, but I doubt the bandwidth can handle anything remotely close to that :)

Here's an executable with a test scenario if anyone wants to test if it works with > 8 players..

Apply it over the 1.06b Beta 6.

Great thing. Got high priority. I hope i can fetch red and some others right now.
 
The amount of diplomacy possible with something like this... even with 2 - 4 more players than are allowed now... absolutely amazing. :D

The amount of setup overhead as a % of total time dedicated to a game with this # of players must be astronomical, something like 70%. Truly frustrating, I guess why he never implmemented it. :) It's already a pain getting 8 people together and coherent.

Fixed some bugs we discovered, like the transfer and the lobby ctd..


I noticed the chat ctd still there and will work on it tomorrow evening..
