Yup cool tool...Although I don't like my Navarra kingdom being situated in Italy with Scotland north of me and lots of mean natives in between :D

Improved Fantasia

Hey Pythagoras -- I've only played the tutorial once through and am almost 200 years into my 1st game (Fantasia). Things I've noticed include: you can't get more than 6 merchants per year no matter how many CoT you monopolize, you can't enter enemy ports in war (even when you control the province) no matter what the game hint says, and the resources are exactly the same as they were in the tutorial map (IOW, you already know where the goodies are).

I'd be interested in seeing or helping create a more realistic scenario (including player control over the number and location of opponents). I'm wondering if it's possible to have the resources allocated randomly at the start of each game or, since we ARE talking about fantasy, even generate a new world map with each game -- that would really put the player in a position of ignorance similar to the historical nations we play. After all, I KNOW where Hawaii and the Caribbean islands are, but they actually had to look for them (and didn't even know they existed in the first place). Unfortunately, the game engine probably isn't capable of doing that kind of randomizing in its current state.:(

Oh, and about the scenario generator -- you can find it under "Scenarios" in the orange/yellow menu bar above where it's called EUGenerator or something like that. I downloaded and unzipped it, but haven't tried installing it yet (want to finish my current game before I do all these mods). The Readme file makes it sound like it's got a lot of what you and I are looking for. Check it out. BTW, if you have problems locating it, email me [Etymology00@aol.com] and I'll send you the direct link for it.

I dont think you can get a new map, although it would be cool. I think after playing with the scenario generator better, that I can alter lots of the annoying things about fantasia (the constant merchants for example) and add more nations and what not.
