Ok gentlemen, what have you thought concerning individual Naval Vessels for example? They will be highly detailed? Lets talk about the Carriers, can we expect amazing textures, rotating elements like radars, animated elevators or general lighting all these selectable via a menu?
Would be interesting to make note when designing 3D models and texturizing differences between the Gerald Ford class or a classic Nimitz class and an improved Nimitz, all this to recreate more inmersion, dont you think so?
Also,if ALL the Air Wing could be available would be great!

Good job and regards.

Hello and welcome tonibamestre

We haven't yet decided the detail of graphic level of the units. This is an RTS, and you're likely to spend 99% of the time in map view, so it's a question how much resources we should dedicate to create amazing details on a ship that you're only likely to see in the seconds before it blows up :D

We do want to make the models and the environment beautiful, though. Immersion is important!

This is XXI century out there as well. Global map is good thing but graphic shouldn't be Fleet Command style .. other way we would play Fleet Command not Arctic War :))) Personally I love civ5 graphic :)

It may be the XXIth century, but some people here still play Paradox Games, and to be honest, million of people are currently playing Starcraft II, whose graphics, once ground level, are far from being anything like top-notch, you know ;)

For how much the 2D display takes up in room and gets much use, for someone who's used to regularly competing against human opponents, there's nothing then a map full of high quality, high resolution, and furiously fast 3D action.

Imagine two groups with the same units 25 miles away (Iowa BB 1980's version with TASM's, Tico CG VLS, Arleigh Burke, OHP FFG, and 688i Attack sub) opening up with full line of sight of each other with SSM's.

The missile, deck gun, and CIWS melee on both sides could equally compete with the Battle of Leyte Gulf.

If I wanted to primarily focus on 2D map results 98% of the time, I'd roll a pair of dice in my hands and see who wins. "Plain" Fleet Command had a significant popularity issue because it was buggy and problematic in certain key areas that detracted from the experience.

Fix the issues with FC's design concept, improve the environment sim engine, provide additional tools, and improve the graphics and camera cinematics to current standards. Do that and you'll have a successor far beyond the scope and dream of what FC could dream to accomplish.

For how much the 2D display takes up in room and gets much use, for someone who's used to regularly competing against human opponents, there's nothing then having the ability to quickly switch to high quality, high resolution, and furiously fast 3D action to view your handiwork in progress.
