So I have just one complaint and I'm not sure where to put this but the hero engineers are just insanely overpowered. Their flame throwers to entirely too much damage...I was looking around for better ways to take them out and there just isn't any. Was just playing a few minutes ago and 2 lvl 3 engineers wiped 3 groups of lvl 3 minions with armor and weapon upgrades...a little unbalanced imo

Usually I run with a priest, an overlord to tank and either a warlock/champion or warlock/scout/shaman

What difficulty are you on? So far ive been playing on normal difficulty with my squads consisting of priest/champion/berserker/overlord. Ive had almost no trouble against engineers. Also remember that having 4 different types of creatures in your squad grants you an squad bonus.

He's correct to a degree, the engineers can be very strong, but I think its more because they're so good in so many circumstances. I roll two "tanky" squads and two "dps" squads, and I make sure the two dps squads focus down the engineers + lightning before they have a chance to annihilate any of my weaker units.

Champions/Overlords are good at bringing them down as long as they aren't overwhelmed in hero numbers.

I also use the commander Baal evolution though, so that could be impacting my squads ability to deal with them.

Maybe it has something to do with when they're level 3? I've noticed level 1/2 engineers don't really phase my guys, but level 3 ones start a minion BBQ.

Sorry never even saw this had been replied to.

I play on normal atm

I usually run with balanced squads usually an overlord *dark dwarf now since I am soulless* Priest/occulus and usually 1 melee dps then 1 ranged dps.

Now to be more clear I only have trouble with it's groups of 2 or 3 engineers 1 isn't hard burn him down first but when you get 3 lvl 3 engineers they just put out too much damage imo

I would recommend to think about specialising your squads more.

I run one or two tank squads, all melee with one Priest. I then run the rest as DPS/utility range.

This means you can port in your melee squad to tank the heroes and then place your DPS squads out of the way, normally will Baal somewhere in between.

This is the only way to control the fights satisfactorily I have found. Otherwise your squads end up in a big mess and the heroes will be targeting your squishies over the melee, they love to take out scouts and shamans first.
