Since 1936, the United States has shown an increased interest in the affairs of Europe, and a more interventionalist foreign policy has prevailed. Agreeing with Germany after the Reoccupation of the Rhineland, the United States supplied Germany with oil and other materials, including rubber and tungsten to support their industry. Supporting the Anscluss with Austria, and agreeing to Germany's demands at Munich, the US increasingly sided with Germany in world affairs. In July of 1939, President Roosevelt made a speech in which he pledged to support Germany in the event of a war with England and France. In a meeting with Hitler on August 6th, the United States formally entered a military allaince with Germany. As the US gears up for war, the rest of the world looks on in horror.

Played under Patch 1.1, no cheats
Chapter one coming soon (next 1-3 days)

Sorry for the lack of notes before August 6, 1939. I didn't intend on writing an AAR, but the game got so interesting that I couldnt resist.

This is my first full HOI 2 game, so excuse poor gameplay.

A democratic, open, liberal society joins the Axis?

Did you go into the save file to create that? Or did the game fall that way?

No save editing, I am the USA. And after the free oil, supplies, and rare materials that I have been giving to Germany since 1936, and the money spent on improving relations (+200 since Munich) it was inevitable. I did get really lucky though. The random chance of their acceptance must be pretty low.

I haven't yet played past joining the axis, and as it is 1:45 am, I most likely won't tonight.

I've built up my army any navy in the prewar years, while neglecting my airforce. The negative efeects of this are unknown.

In the next update, the army will be deployed and the plan for Operation Golden Eagle (the invasion of Canada) and Operation Seahawk (the amphibious invasions of British and French possesions in the Caribbean Sea) will be outlined.

Well at least you live up to your name.

Who'd have thought Roosevelt was really a German sympathiser? And here people are complaining about diplomacy.

Isn't there some weird set of events that turn US paternalist autocrat?...

GWBII gets a second term?

@ Ardryn, Gjerg Kastrioti, Sovereign, and IndianaJ: I'm glad to have you along.

@ Arilou: I'm not sure, but they might be coming.

@ Sindai: I've been wondering the same thing. Which side will Japan take?

Okay, I've been corrupted and need to know what way this AAR goes.... U.S. in the Axis camp? Unbelievable! But interesting to say the very least.

Bring it on, eh? :D

The real plan for fighting the British Empire was called Plan Red. The subplan within that for attacking Canada Plan Crimson and for fighting Australia and New Zealand Plan Scarlett. They'll probably over-run the Phillipines.

Do you have any more information regarding that?

I hope that you enjoy it, Draco Rexus.
