So seriously why is the game not on consoles? Ck3, stellaris, CS, all of these games are. And if you tell me my series x can't run it but my dinky steamdeck can well then I don't believe you.. Yes yes I can go buy a pc but I have bills and a cat to provide for. Between you halting stellaris updates on console and keeping HOI4 from me.. Sorry for the rant but I just want to play before I die Anyways enjoy your wars everyone! I'll be cheering from the sidelines.. forsaken, lost....and alone

And just to make it clear this post wasn't saying "buh huh" I need a pc. It was clearly asking what the reason was behind the non existent console port. Reading is hard though I understand.

My current laptop was $1500 and runs hoi4 probably about as well as it can be. My previous one was under $1k and ran it acceptably well. Not trying to discredit your point and saying that it's cheap, but it's not es expensive as you imagine.

What kind of spec do you expect to need to run HoI4 exactly ? Because whichever you're thinking off, my 10 year old toaster probably isn't meeting them, and it runs HoI4 just fine.

The same reason as every other PC game that isn't on consoles and vice-versa, presumably. From what you tell us, they already decided it wasn't worth it for Stellaris after all.

My previous laptop from 2018 still runs HoI4 just fine, and that thing got retired not just from age but from having water, wine, and soda all spilled on it, toddlers knocking it off the desk, god knows how much cat hair is in it since I ain’t cleaning it anymore… It explodes if you try to run ten-year-old graphics-heavier games like RDR2 or Witcher 3 that it once could play… point is Paradox games don’t need modern machines lol.

My 10 year old laptop can handle HoI IV at medium/high settings, and it cost about 900$ back then so... Yes you can afford a PC capable of handling Hearts of Iron IV, an 8 years old game.

Perhaps running late game of HOI4 in a swift speed will be almost impossible. But for most part, a computer of within 500$USD is enough.

That´s the Problem with Handheld Consoles. That´s one of the big Reason why I don´t use handheld Consoles.

The best Thing is to use an normal PC or Laptop with an seperate Monitor inclouding Mouse and Keyboard.

My $1200 laptop ($860 USD) can run Hoi4 pretty well, you don't need something fancy to play the game

I had a 2008 Macbook Pro that could (barely) run v1.0 HOI4 after I added some extra RAM to it.

$600 Pre built from a pawn shop that I solely bought for HOI4. Never even thought about upgrading it and No issues. and I couldn't imagine wanting to play it on a console when you could use it for some better game like the UNO you definitely got free with your Xbox
