I'm aware that you - as ruler - and your heir can learn the Aspiring Blademaster perk via a Swordmaster Accoladed Knight.
This is really cool; but in-and-of-itself, that's not enough. And I'm hoping that's not the case.
A few questions:
1) If you or your heir are ALREADY an Aspiring Blademaster, can your Blademaster Accoladed Knight grant experience to the Aspiring Blademaster trait? Or is his job a "one and done" kind of deal? Because if so, that's really sortsighted design - and I say that in the most gentle and loving way towards Relic that I can. It's short-sighted because not giving you any experience after making your character an Aspiring Blademaster not only feels like your Knight just gave on you, but your life has a limited span and getting experience towards filling Aspiring Blademaster would be very precious (and very realistic).
2) Does participating in tournament duels and honor/punishment duels grant you proper armounts of experience towards becoming a Legendary Blademaster, or are tournaments still a merely nominal way to progress down the Blademaster trait path?
3) We've been asking for years: despite "realism," some of us insane-o players would like to lead our armies from the front, not from the Command Tent. The "Chivarly" focus in Martial Lifestyle & hacing an entourage of loyal Knights lends itself to this fantasy extremely well. And while I understand that your entire lineage benefits from Military Academies, increased Knight effectiveness, Prowess boosts, Kin disallowing age to erode your Prowess, and more.... AND THIS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.... it feels so much cooler when you also benefit directly when you choose to lead from the front (which is currently possible only with mods).
4) The Greatest of Khans and being a respected Khan requiring high levels of Prowess, the culture having a duel-focus, and in general bringing Prowess into leadership qualifications feels badass. This is a current example of how the idea CAN work, when implimented well.
5) It's fine for certain governments to shy away from Knights in favor of, say, Men-At-Arms (looking at you, Byzantium). This adds variety. It also makes it all-the-more satisfying when you defy expectations and BECOME a boss even when you are expected to lead an army of MAA and not really care much about having powerful Knights. That being said, not every government type needs to lean into knights; but the ones that do? They ought to at least ALLOW you to lead from the front as the greatest example of Chivarly and Kingship.
6) Becoming a Crusader King should just automatically let you lead armies as a Knight. I'll take it a step further: if you're already a Crusader King (or in direct lineage of one) you should have the option of a *combined* Legitimazing/Holy legend that makes you a Living Saint.
So for the love of all that's holy, PLEASE let us allow our leaders to be frontline leaders, and not relegated to leading from the safety of the back. Even if it's a cultural or religious tenent, I'd gladly "pay the price" to allow my leader to take a place along the front line.
And finally -- this isn't overpowered. It's dangerous to lead from the front; especially if you get an unforseen negative event at a bad time. I've been killed before at the cusp of victory just by "fate" and a bad "roll." But we embrace the danger for the fun and glory.
