Why does the AI seem to get so many troops faster then i can, after destroying their armies, they end up amassing an army 5x mine in about 2 months. Meanwhile i hardly get any reinforcements within my own land.

How does the AI change the direction of its retreating men? I beat them in a battle saying they would go one way, which they ended up changing that and destroying one of my smaller forces.

Im just confused as to how they manage to do this. Not to mention, every vassal asks for a Kori every other day and a daimyo title every week.

Hi LS,

1. The Clan you are fighting may be Buddhist. Buddhist adherents regenerate levies quickly, and can field waves of new, full-strength levies twice a year. A large clan like the Yamana or Uesugi can overwhelm you this way.

The solution is to attack their honor, usually with ninja's. Bribes and marriages, to keep their opinion of you higher than another competitor (i.e., target) also helps.
If you lower their clan leader's honor below 25, they will not have the amount needed to declare any wars. You can then build up and fight them at a time of your own choosing, or maybe not even at all - just go around them ;)

2. The AI is fairly sophisticated in Sengoku. Retreating forces must go to the province designated, but they stay there only a minimum amount of time before moving to recombine with other reinforcements. The force that destoyed your army was probably another group that moved in after the battle and proceeded on their own way, or a section of the retreating army that was still large enough to defeat you, even with its reduced morale & cohesion. Not all defeated elements move to the same location in Sengoku; the AI splits its stack up to minimize attrition.

3. Just say no! to kori requests. They'll get mad, but you're in charge. They'll get over it.
