While using the political map in the game I noticed that my country (Sweden) have small shields in all its provinces. What does that mean? Playing as Russia I noticed that they have these shields all over the place...If I capture a province with a shild, I have noticed that it will not revolt, why is that? And if I capture a province (say I province from the Golden Hord playing as Russia) with a shield, how will the rest of the world react to that? Will they think: 'ohh, well it should belong to his country' or what? Will my BB rating go less up if I take provninces with my shiled?

A National/Core province is considered 'your' province (and are denoted by small shields on the political screen), but might currently be owned by another country. In that case you have a claim on it, which gives you a permanent CB (no -2 stability penalty if you declare war) to whatever country is the current owner of that province. Some provinces, historically much fought over, might be National/Core to more then one country.

The FAQs mentioned are well worth a look.

Have fun........
