USNA 36 Abyss Grand Campaign
This is only my second aar attempt. My first one bored even me. Hopefully this one will be better.
Starting rules:No allies, IC Takeover off, Tech Team Takeover on. Difficulty "very emu/aggressive". I allowed myself 2 slider changes: full freemarket(this is America after all) and full hawk. No other cheats, no reloads(except in case of a crash or something).
I will let you guys decide, puppets or no?
1/1/36 West Wing of the White House
President Roosevelt addresses the cabinet "Gentlemen, as you know these are dangerous times. The world is a tinder box just waiting for a spark. How prepared are we? Ken, as head of the OSS and Chairman of the JCS, I will ask you first."
"Mr President" began Kenneth Stuart "Our intelligence capabilities are non existent. Fortunately the rest of the world is in the same boat. Our military is small and outdated, again the rest of the world has the same problem. Our analysis shows there will be war. There are simply not enough resources for everybody. The Confederates and the Libertadores have already had minor border skirmishes, and a war between them could easily drag us into the mix. I propose an immediate draft consisting of 24 irregular divisions, to be stiffened by a leavening of artillery brigades. Further, I suggest we begin an immediate upgrade of our intelligence gathering capabilities."
"Fine, Mackenzie how much of that can we produce?"
"Sir," Armaments minister Ian Mackenzie answered "we cannot use our full industrial capacity. We lack many strategic resources. However we can accommodate his requests."
"Good. Ernie, how is the Navy?"
"Mr President our naval power is pitiful. We need to immediately research and build more and better warships. We match any other nation, but we will face the combined navies of the Axis as well as the Comintern. I request we immediately build 6 more carriers, 6 more light cruisers, and 2 submarines. We also need more transports and we must strengthen the merchant marine."
"So Ordered" intoned the President.
"Joe, what about the air force?"
"Sir, the air force needs to research and upgrade what we have first. Then we can build more. My priority would be to research and upgrade our interceptors."
"Ok" answered Roosevelt "Lets get moving on this before we get caught by a surprise attack."
