A gajillion windows opening

At some point soon after loading a game, an event will happen--could be any--that opens a seemingly infinite number of windows. No way to close them all. Last time this happened, the whole thing froze up on me, and the game became unplayable. This is standard HOI2 Armageddon v1.2.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Start a game and pause it immediately - go to message settings :

MENU -> OPTIONS -> MESSAGE SETTINGS.

Each message type has four options :

- do not display
- display in game log
- display in message box
- display in message box and pause

Go through the list and only enable message boxes for the messages you consider important. All others can go into the game log (or be disabled).

Another way (if the game hasn't locked up) is to right click each message box on the screen and make a choice from the menu that pops up.
