A historical inaccuracy !?

Playing on the German side, the realization of the operation Sealion ( The invasion of British Isle) has always been at the top list of my considerations. I myself had used every imaginable( from my prespective) historically accurate method such as naval bombing, V1 strategic bombing, mass amphibious assault and so on, and the game seemed to be resiliant towards all these historic actions.

However this historically inaccurate but game applyable method has given the best result. At the start of the Scenario Road to war the Germany has the IC required for producing 10 Bismark class Battleships which by the Jan of 38 provides Germany with an invincible fleet should the Cruisers of the Kriegsmarine and Baltische flotalia be added to the mess.

I have tested this combination several times and each time the fleet cuts through the royal navy like knife through Swiss Cheese.

However this method is quite in contradiction with the present restrictions upon Germans imposed by the Versaiiles. Majority of us know that the Germans manged to build ultimately 2 Bimark class Battleships ( Bismark and her sister ) and well after the beginning of the war.


Well I think that the restriction on the Large scale ships once imposed on Germans had to be placed somewhere in the Game.

Well, I don't know how much the treaty was still enforced in '36 (though I do believe the main reason the Germans didn't build more ships faster was a lack of resources, and not the treaty), but some mods like Mod-34 add this.

If you recall the main objection of the British which eventually led to the outbreak of the first world war on the British side was Kaiser Wilhelm's ambition for out rivaling the British Royal Navy through naval race. I'm quite sure that in real world the British wouldn't stand still to see their naval might to be outmatched by a country who was still at least nominally suffering from a defeat on their hand.
