Holland and Russia to be added in 1560's

Idea is to have 1-2 permanent days per week, but players in this game should be able to make perhaps 1-3 more days varying from week to week.

Say we have one day permanent, and from week to week we decide which other days we want to play also.

So key word is dedicated, if you want to play in this game you need to be able to possibly play even 3-5 days a week sometimes, plus long weekend sessions.

It's a bonus if you can begin playing a bit earlier somedays too.

Game will be played in European times, that doesn't mean dedicated americans can't join in too :)

-------All the rules below except #1, #3, #5 are put on hold for the moment since we are playing the game in 1.06b2 and it has addressed these to some extent.--------

Rules will be along these lines, perhaps more can be added or they can be debated and changed if necessary.

(
1) You may only convert to CRC once.
2) You must answer peace offers within one month
3) Players are not allowed to force convert pagans through peace treaties in the ToT
4) You may only have 4 colonies in progress at any one time, no limit on the number of TP's.
5) Playable countries can not be attacked when not played, and when attacked by one a white peace must be gained.
6) If at any time your BB goes over 35 then you must release vassals until it goes below 35, this must take place at the start of the next session. If the French revolution or American revolution happens then the max limit is increased to 45. Exploitation of inheritance events grants 3BB per province.
7) For provinces outside europe(OE/russian cores count for europe) gained from player wars will be 0 BB.
)

We are considering rules about:
a limit on forts in colonies,
any thoughts on these are welcome.

Playable countries will be:
England
France
Austria
Spain
Ottoman Empire
and Brandenburg/Sweden/Russia/Venice/Portugal/Poland

If you are interested in joining post here:
your playing times,
your ICQ number,
your connection speed. (can you host games if necessary) I can host 8 players at 1:1 speed pretty solid, and 6 players at 1:2 speed.

I cant commit to a long term game at the moment but if you ever need a stand in or someone to play Holland for a bit let me know.

2 points.

1) TA's are likely to change (see Johan's post on this board) so you may not need a rule for that.
2) Unless you want to avoid edits altogether it might be worth having only 1 BB point for taking a European province from another player or alternatively just 1BB for a non European province from another player. It was an idea from someone in the MGC group as they complained, quite rightly, that the BB rule whilst designed to protect minors was infact hindering inter player play as the game went on.

good luck

Yes, actually I forgot to add that, :) Atleast colonial gains should be at 0 BB from player nations, and about european provinces, well that can be discussed, although having BB here limits too big terrotitory shifts in europe, which can be a good thing. But this can be debated and talked on further.

I could join, or at least be a trusty standin. If possible i would like to play Sweden.

I doubt rule #2 will be needed if I get 1.06b ready soon :)

How about rule #1?

Not sure of the justification for all of the rules (even though Mowers et al have debated and explained them at various times) but if they seem to be necessary for MP games could some of them be incorporated into the game, like the trade agreements and BB wars? I understand there is work involved and am not really pushing for them to be in the game - just an "Oh by the way..." kind of thing.

:)

So its not going to be named "The Next Patch" ? ;) Now which #2 rule are you talking about, Mowers' or Phoenix's?

Phoenix rule.

1.06b or whatever we'll call it.. (considering the amount of stuff going in, I should name it 1.07 really)

Technically speaking they are both my rules. :D

However, with V1.06 combined with the future V1.06b or V1.07 I am having to delete rules faster than I can make them up.

By the summer all my rules will have meeeellltttteeeddddd away!

My purpose in life to design rules that people can continually complain about will have gone.

I guess that means that my next project will have to go into production *its going to be big*. Much bigger than anything than I have ever attempted before. Its provisional, temporary and somewhat misleading title will be 'STEUOP'

Ooh - lots of stuff going in - I like it. Thanks Johan.:)

I can play a bit here and there on your schedule if you need a sub (as you already know). The only thing I have a problem with is the BB rule, but I think I can live with it.

Red, you can count me in as a sub as well if needed. I'll pretty much sub for anything but Russia...:p :D

Wow. That's one of my favorite countries. What's so wrong with them? Just an honest question.

Count with me Red :p

Russia is too much isolated for me. The nearest player country is usually far away, which limits the player to player interaction for Russia. I guess I just find them boring to play. Besides, colonising Siberia doesn't give me a kick equal to colonising the Americas...:D
