Hello folks,
So, for a long time I have wanted an economy game with a Paradox-like experience. Take Victoria II to the higher level and actually become a capitalist. That's just an example, but I think there's something that could be fun for, say, the India Companies (I know there's already a game edited by Paradox but edited is not developed, it hasn't the same experience that you would expect from a Paradox game) or in today's era (or in cyberpunk future ? ).
I mean, the only economy game around is Capitalism II (and EIC of course, but not really the same, it's more of an Anno-style game) and it was, like, 10 years ago ? And it was a bit like a Sim City game, no map and all. And it wasn't really fun nor engaging (looked educational, which was a bit what it was).
So, that's pretty much it. Tell what you think of it (and of the odds of Paradox actually making such a game, that is to say if they are non existant or just a lil' bit more) !
Good day !

Maybe a game where you are a game development studio, and have to decide on weather or not to go with the Steam platform, as the overwhelming majority of your players seem to want, or stay away from it, as the loudest community members demand :D

I know you jest but... a game where you play someone who makes games? It has legs! Run with it.

There is a surprisingly amusing game for iphone where you run a gamestudio. Its called Game Dev Story. Its about as deep and strategical as it gets on a phone, well worth the money though.

I have always thought that a game where you are a weapons manufacturer would be pretty cool, design your weapons, sell to nations or rebels. Profit from war and so forth.

Edit: I only just now saw the link for game dev story, my bad.

You should do a game from 1991-2015

Market Bubbles and Collapse
Fiat Currencies
Trade and Relations
International Incidents
Mass Media and Tech Society
Elections and Autocracy
Erosion of Personal Freedoms/Arab, Ukranian, and General Springs run by social networking
Micro Wars and avoiding Macro ones
Global Warming, Pollution, Green Tech
Strategic Defense Initiatives
Decline of the UN and rise of central banks

etc. maybe throw in EvW's whole you know, nuclear war mechanics as well.

ive had an idea. the game dev company gets transported back to the middle ages and is transformed into an entity that controls an entire country of the player's choice.
