One can hope... Maybe a hotfix for all the problems players are experiencing with the game not starting properly after the latest patch. But I dont expect anything else like the office bug fix.

This will be the story every patch release. I want fixes for 5/5, hotels, tourists, entertainment commercials from leisure venues and signature buildings.

They seem to fix bugs because a upcoming Dlc is dependent on it. They fixed industry since it was necessary for the bridges and piers. In the future they will release a tourist Dlc and then a patch with fixes for hotels and increase in amount of tourists. Then they will release a financial District Dlc so they have to fix 5/5. They only do stuff because it's really really necessary.

I was expecting an immediate hotfix once it became clear how many people were no longer able to start the game. I don't know how complex the underlying issues are, but one thing the patch changed is apparently that the error messages are no longer visible. I used to get the infamous "central directory not found" error, but it was possible to dismiss it, and the game would start just fine. However, after the patch, that was no longer possible, and you were stuck on the blurry clouds screen.

Instead of a hotfix, we got a post a week later with debugging hints that was only on Steam, while people flooded the forum and mostly got no reply. For every person going through the trouble of seeking help on the official forum, there are ten more who abandon the game, so I would think this bug ought to be the highest priority, and not something to put off and combine with other bug fixes in the distant future.

By the way there is a about 15 bug reports related to not being able to play after the patch. It would be nice to know how wide spread this issue is. Is it in the tens, hundreds, thousands and so on.

I don't know why people are expecting a patch. Given previous behaviour, I would not expect anything before the DLC.
It may be naive but one can always assume that multiple bug reports about not being able to use the product because of the new patch, might encourage a hot fix. But holidays are also hot . So they probably choose the latter if they even hade a choice.

I hope our single have a nice holiday with lots of sun, beer, grill and fully recharge his/her battery so he/she can finally solve 5/5 for me.

Interestingly enough someone created a mod today that supposedly fixes the 5/5 issue for now. It's called "Office Sales Go!". I have not tested that one but could be interesting to play around with for a bit.

People have been waiting to play the product they bought (ports and bridges DLC) for how long now? pushing on 2 years? And it doesn't seem to have moved CO much at all...

Hopefully a fix for the office employment bug, causing unemployment to rocket in my city even despite doubling the space dedicated to high density zoning in my city

It would be nice if they just communicated about if they are doing it or not. Only CO seems to have this problem, other paradox games even with troubled development like vic 3 had the developers answering such questions.

Its dependent on profit based office and industry mod. This one is buggy, but not way I stopt using it. You get the opposite problem they hire to the point it gets ridiculous and uncomfortable. But I will still test this new one. Maybe it solved the issue that I mentioned.

If you read the mod description, then we can understand that PBOIA is neutered by the Office Sales Go! mod and only the office 5/5 bug is addressed using some of the PBOIA code for that purpose. Anyway, curious to see what you find out. It seems to be working good now that I've used it a few hours of real-time game play.

Hasn't it been that way after every patch? I would be happy to be shown wrong, but it is how they operate.
