This is the official thread for the "A pleasant journey through time" game.
A friendly game played by a group of friends, all swedes except for an argentinian and a frenchman. English will be the official language.

At the moment we are about 10 players who all more or less know each other, and if anybody else wishes to join, it might be possible. Some of us are quite experienced SP players, and some are very new to the game, but we are all new to MP. We wish to play a nice and slow RP-heavy game of learning.

we will play with latest beta and the AGCEEP mod, 1419 scenario.

The first real session will therefore be on sunday the sixth of march at 23.00 CET. Mat2k will be in thailand, but has agreed that his Brandenburg will be AI run for the first session. After that we will probably continue with that time, if saturdays afternoons will be impossible.

We will use msn messenger and this thread for communication

Countries available:

Current Rules (please discuss)

1.Treaties. For a treaty to be valid, it has to be posted in the RP thread (and may only be edited up to 10 minutes after post, so check spelling) and then signed by other parts in the RP thread. If such a treaty is to be broken, severe penalties will be made. Treaties made secretly on msn or likewise are free to be broken without repercussions.

2. Gamespeed. "above normal" is standard, but if a player requests (due to war) it be lowered to "normal", or if it is a big war, to "below normal"

3. Pausing. Every session begins with a lengthy pause, so that everyone can get up to speed with their country, check their stuff and do some diplomacy.
Otherwise pausing should be kept to a minimum.

4. Taking land. The 8 points rule will rule. In any given peacetreaty, no more provinces worth more then a total of 8 points may be taken. European provinces are worth 2 points. European COT's and gold provinces are worth 4. non-european/colonial provinces are worth 1 p. and non-european/colonial COT's or gold provinces are worth 2. Below 1000 pop colonies and TP's are worth 0.5 points.

5. Cultural Assimilation. Any nation that control 75% of a culture for 60 years may claim that culture as state culture, but a nation can only claim TWO(2) cultures. So plan it carefully as a culture gained by this way will not be removed in any case; Japanese, Han, Cantonese and Persian can't be claimed, but persian can be claimed by OE after 1700s

6. Claiming cores. A nation that control a Province that it isnt his core for 60 years will get a core on it. If the province's culture is a state culture, core will be given after 30 years. Colonies however, may not be claimed

7. Vassalization. If a player is vassalized, he must remain so for 15 years, unless the liege wishes to release him. After 15 years a player may cancel his vassalization, but a DOW on the liege must follow.

Either there's a namestealer ( ;) ) running around, or Wyvern recently moved....

Always nice to see some new people join the MP community, good luck and have fun.

Haha, he's not on the forum, so he's not a namestealer. He's probably gonna have to reg with another nick and use that one.

Thanks for your support :)

It's difficult to play 1419 with only 10 players, since you need to have players for Burgundy and Aragon as well, at the very least. Maybe you should consider a 1492 or 1526 start.

Oh, and I recommend Hive's AoI mod as well. :)

Ah someone has enrolled me in a new game? :D

Are you going to change the name of the game if it becomes unpleasant? I find that such high expectations are going to be difficult to live up to. Perhaps you should call it "A terrible journey through time". Then, when the game is fun, you will be exceeding your expectations.

Low Expectations lead to pleasant surprises.
High Expectations lead to being let down.

Therefore, I recommend you change names before you get your hopes up! :D

your game seems interesting. But, when do you play? You said wednesday around 21:00. Is it GMT?

I could be interested about wednesday.

my preference is :

- Austria
- Brandenburg
- Ottoman Empire

Interest noted. We will discuss whether we want outside players or not, check back here in the thread in a couple of days and I think you will have the answer.

Everyone else: Thanks for your support, I think that this will be a very interesting game.

Oh well.. I'm here now. ^_^.

And I'm not Wyvern here then. So be it. *sniff*

I'm so very very new at this but I think I could get the basics down quite fast.
Maybe; Denmark, Ottoman Empire.. Perhaps, or do you want me to chose from the countrys mentioned in the first post?
