A problem with patching DD

Here are my specs.

Game Version & Patch (incl. publisher): Just the unpatched HOI2 with DoomsDay expansion.

OS & build/SP: Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001)

Computer, CPU & speed: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU

RAM: 4GB Ram

Free HDD space: 644 GBs

Video (brand, model, driver, memory): ATI 4800 Series

Sound (brand, model, driver):

DirectX Version: DirectX10

I have been playing unpatch DD for some time now and have had no trouble yet. Anyways, let me get into detail with my problem. I recently tried patching my DD to 1.3a so that I could play the Modern Day Scenario. The patch installs well,but once I get to the start up and press start, my game freezes and I get a screen saying "ERROR(ScenarioInfo:unexpectantfield)'democracy_war=0'Line=19File=Scenarios/savegames/autosave.eug---."

I have tried solutions on another thread that addressed this issue, but with no luck. I am running on windows vista and have gotten the game and patch from gamersgate if that is any help. I would appreciate any help and am willing to try any solution.

I think you used the wrong patch.

The democracy_war line in your error message relates to the Democracy can declare war option that was added with Armageddon.

You will need to uninstall then reinstall.

Use theco0rrect patch from here
