When I look at the relations screen all my provinces are coloured deep red. The same colour as the countries with whom I have a -200 relationship.
How come? Doeas my provinces hate me? If so, what are the penalties?
 
Have you been a really bad boy? :) I can't say for sure, but I think it may be when you stay at war for a very long time, your own people start to grow angry at you too - and that's when rebellions may start to break out in your home provinces, regardless of religion.

This is my guess of course, and if what I describe doesn't fit with your situation in the game, then I'm probably wrong.

You may have selected a country to look at who hates you? Your territory will change colour every time you click on a different nation.

Alternatively I'm guessing it might reflect your stability so if you have just changed religion and dropped to -2 or -3 it would be red.

I've been bad. Maybe not that bad. But at least very naughty.

But I have not been engaged in any longer wars for decades. I try to keep them short and glorious or at least short.

Besides. It doesn't seem to affect the probability for revolts.

No on both accounts. My own country is selected and stability is at +3.
 
If you want to see your actual BadBoy value, just read through your savegame-file, find the section for your country and the variable badboy is there in plain sight.
I don't however know what's a relatively high value for it, but anything higher than maybe 20 sounds pretty high I suppose?

It has nothing (at least not directly) to do with your badboy value, but with your relations to other countries. In order to improve relations, don't be such a badboy, give some of the countries with whom you want to have a close relationship some money, get royal marriages, etc and your relations will ameliorate.

I checked. Most countries, except for my neighbors and Spain, severely dislikes me.

This and every other explanation in this thread is wrong.

The fact is that you have a relation towards yourself, probably to represent what the influetial people of your own country think of the government. Exactly what it does I'm not shure, mayby it affects the chance of a getting a civil war ?

What I do know however, is that for instance taking 250 D in a peace negotiation gives +10 in relation towards yourself while breaking a RM gives -70 !!
