a question on Leaders

This game is better than I expected! I really hope this game is selling heavily, because Paradox did a great job.

I have a newbie doubt: how do I know when a new leader is available to my nation?
I looked at the file 'leaders.txt' and I read that a Conquistador is supposed to arrive in 1495 (in Spain).
But now it's 1496 and I cannot see any leader around.

• So it's me that don't know where to look for a new leader or
• leaders can arrive later than the year listed in the file 'leaders.txt'?

Well, when a historical leader arrives, a message will appear, in the log as a defeault, but you can change that to popup on the screen instead. They usually come on the first of January. The message also says where they are.

I don´t think that they can appear out of date.

Tonight i'm going to restart my Grand Campaign, and i will try to find out where to edit options in order to make some announcements appear as pop-up.
