i just witnessed something that made me see Crusader Kings 3 even more intriguingly.

My Spymaster and Master of Disguises Remiro, who happened to be a scoundrel of a man was excommunicated by the pope. He recently had a "Good Omen" which kept him going through his battle with illness. I wonder what that was?...

It seems he then faked his own death by Small Pox.... (He had small pox but remarkably recovered and "died" the same day)

And then immediately after this chap appears:

The new Diago of Alto Aragon seems remarkably similar don't you think and acting stupid to put people off?... I wonder how he forged his backstory as well hmmm..

The plot thickens...

If his traits were a little friendlier, I'd say he was just doing the Jean Valjean thing. But... well, seems like he may be trying to collect insurance.

Or maybe there's something darker here. Demons.

He might be telling half-truths for the backstory?

...I've been trying to keep the Aragonese Culture alive. It seems that there are very few left alive that consider themselves Aragonese. Whether my "Councillor" had something to do with this is a different matter. The third iteration is definately not him. He's Muwalladian and looks nothing like him. Maybe he gave up the ghost...

The plot thickens indeed.
