Hello, my next AAR will be about Russia. I've never played as this country before and I think it'll be very difficult (but aslo fun). Russia has no military leaders at all, nor a government. This is because it's not in the sarting list of nations. I hope it'll be a fun game though.

version: CORE 0.85 with 1.06c (I still have to download 0.90, maybe I'll even switch to it tomorrow since I'm only at the start of the game))

difficulty: normal/normal

enjoy...

The soviet people are standing along the road to the government building in Moscow. They are all waving at the great parade, honoring comrade Stalin. Look at those poor people, made to believe that Stalin is a godlike person. None of the common citizents know what’s really going on in the Soviet Union. Everybody thinks that Stalin is a man that cares for his people, but nothing is less true. Thousands of innocent people have allready been transported to the cold and poor provinces of Siberia, without any chance nor hope for their future. If you just have one non-comunist opinion of your own, you’ll cease to exist.
No, the real situation here is a big country with many people in it, all in the hands of Stalin. People don’t know anything, they learn at school that Stalin is the greates man that has ever lived. History lessons are false and just another form of propaganda for the state. Even the communist system is altered to give Stalin great power. There is no real equalness (which is the real communist idea), there is just poorness. In fact almost whole of the russian industry is based on weapons and other heavy industry. Consumer goods are of bad qualtity (there is no competition between the companies in the five-year-plans) and people are just another form of resource, a resource that grows continually, and thus can be refreshed every now and then.
But I will end this madness. I’ve come from a concentration camp in Siberia, all the way to moscow. I left the camp with 5 comrades, but I’m the only one that has made it through Russia. The others became sick and died (they couldn’t check in in a hospital, for they would be killed) or were caught somewhere along the path. Those are probably executed by now. But I will avenge them! I, Konstantin, will end this madness. With my fathers hunting gun (I picked it up on my way to Moscow), I’ll end Stalin’s life. The soviet union as we know it will end here and now...

A gun is fired, and the shot makes everything quiet. This is unbelievable! The great leader Stalin, dead! It took me, Ivan, some time before I realised that I was standing just behind the man who had fired the shot. What a traitor! Without thinking twice, I knocked the bastard down and began beating him. Other men around me began helping me. Somehow, the man I was kicking had a smile on his face though. It was disgusting! How could he laugh after doing such a bad thing!

After the unexpected deed last week, the soviet union quickly began falling apart. The people in Siberia declared independance right away, and the army didn’t know what to do about it. They couldn’t just murder all of their own people, could they? In the west of the Soviet Union, things began getting out of hand too. The people soon learned what the past government was like really. They didn’t want to be a part of this anymore... The independant state of Russia was formed, leaving the soviet union scattered. The new soviet head of state, was actually a very tollerant man and he let all this happen. He was a communist, but a better one then Stalin. Or maybe he just needed his army to sutain all of the rebellion spreading across the country...
Whatever, we have our own independant state now. Former western Soviet Union is Russian now. I, Viktor, am the ruler of this new nation. I hope we manage to grab some more land, for we are the best of the new nations. I think we can safely say that most of the worlds citizens want me as their ruler.
Our biggest disadvantage is our lack of a proper government and military leaders. They are, strangely enough, still loyal to the Soviet union. But maybe we can achieve things even without their help (though it will be hard). We’ll just see what lies in the future path of this fresh and pure new nation...

Our new country is up and running now. New technologies are being researched and an army is being built. We managed to get some good deals on the world market, giving us all the resources we need. The people are happy and so am I.

<Some vague figures with German flag march into Viktor’s office>

Viktor: ‘What’s this?’

German man (GM): ‘We are seizing control of your country. You will accept our generous offer to become our puppet state and live, or you decline it and die. Decline, and we will seize control anyway. So what’s it going to be?’

Viktor: ‘No, no, no! This can’t be happening!’

GM: ‘Well, apparently it does.’

<a gunshot in the room. Viktor collapses on the floor. A man, wearing the name tag of Heinz, enters the room and orders to clean up the mess. He settles behind Viktor’s former desk.>

Franz: ‘What are you waiting for? Clean up this mess here and order your men to crush all resistance. I’ll personally inform the Fűhrer of our succes. Now hurry!’

So it is true now. I, Franz, am the ruler of my own country. It did take me much time and effort to get so close to the Fűhrer to be nominated for this position. But the time is finally there... I will stay loyal to Germany for the time being, but I have other plans for the future than Germany...

<A man in russian uniform enters Franz’s office.>

Franz: ‘So, what news do you have. I hope it’s the annual report, because I’d like to see that..’

Man: ‘Yes, sir, it’s the annual report indeed. We worked day and night to finish it for today.’

Franz: ‘ok, thank you. I’ll read it right away. You’re dismissed!’

<The man saluts Franz and turns around, marching out of the office. Franz opens the annual report and begins reading it.>

So, this is how we are doing. Our economy is running fine at the moment, but there are bad reports of our oil supplies. If we keep our economy running at this rate, too much oil is needed to transfer into rubber. Military advisors collaborated with some geologists and came up with the following idea: To invade Persia and Iraq. This should be easy for us, as our military advisor says, but it might attract the attention of the U.K. and France.
Hard decision, really hard. But we really need the oil. What the heck! We’ll at least attack Persia.’

<Franz calls the chief of army (CoA) into his office. After a minute, the man in uniform arrives.>

Franz: ‘I just decided to launch an attack on Persia. Station all of our military forces along our border shared with Persia.’

CoA: ‘Yes sir, right away. But we need to wait a couple of days before the attack, because all of our forces have to charge their orginization. And may I aware you that we have absolutely no skilled generals? All of our military leaders are rookies that haven’t seen any action yet.’

Franz: ‘I’m aware of that, but I’m hoping to crush the oil-countries with pure numbers. Enough talking has been done, now go and station the forces!’

CoA: ‘Sir, yes sir!’

<The chief of army saluts Franz and leaves the office.>

<Franz receives a fax from Baku, the most southern city of Russia, bordered with Persia.>

To : Franz’s office
From: Baku
Date: January 15th 1937

Hello Franz, everything is ready . The troops are organized and ready to go. Just give the order and we’ll march into Persia, to victory!

To : Baku
From: Franz’s office
Date: January 15th 1937

Good. I’ll do the official declaration of war on Persia this afternoon. Stand ready to give them orders to march at 1600 hours. We shall prevail..

December 27th 1937

<Franz is eating lunch in his office. Then he hears knocking on the door. ‘Come in’, he sais. One of his military advisors (MA) enters the room. In his hand is a report. He hands it over to Franz.>

MA: ‘This is the report stating that we have succesfully annexed Persia.’

Franz: ‘That’s good news, but why did it take so long?’

MA: ‘The terrain in Persia was to rough to move fast. We were constantly advancing, but the marching took a long time.’

Franz: ‘I’d like to annex Iraq before any other wars break out. Are our troops ready for an invasion right away?’

MA: ‘We allready thought of that, sir. 31 of our divisions are allready on their border. They can attack any time. I think we shoul strengthen our defences at the border with India, though.'

Franz: ‘Good, strengthen the defences there then. But hurry!’

MA: ‘Allright sir, I'll start the process right away.’

<The military advisor leaves the room. Franz sits back in his chair, looking at the sad reports concerning our oil reserves once again, hoping the problems will be over in a short time.>
