Firstly; don't throw the rocks at me.

I wanted to like this game. Badly. At first I didn't but it because I hated the lack of two consuls. I also hted the pop and mna mechanics and when they changed it was massively overjoyed. I spent qute some time playing the game.

I think there are massive improvements and I want to support Paraox so I bought the last DLC 5 minutes after it was released. I own all the DLC for this game, including the somewhat controversial Deluxe edition.

While I was overhyped for 2.0, sadly, it doesn't click for me. The game has introduces so many weird choices that it is at least for me considerably less stable than it was before. So weird and underwhelming Mission rewards, for what is supposed to be a core of the paid content. I may be misunderstanding how the wars are led now, and while I support heavily some decisions such as overall smaller armies, I am actually enjoying warfare now less then I used to, with the levy and legion restrictions (and everyting that comes along). The techs are....so vastly numerous. In fcf, far too much. There are so many strange quirks and bugs. I can't cancel Fabricating claims - ever. I lose costly wars for no reason, even when I am winning.

While I do support them trying and definitely improving the game on mnay a sale, it s with difficult heart that I have to conclude that the best option for me is to abandon I:R and check back in, in around a year or so.

I sincerely hope Paradox changes my mind.

I fully agree, the only reason i came back was because of these massive improvements and it was the deciding factor on whether or not i was going to abandon the game completely, it even impacted my decision in not buying other Paradox games and it wasn't really a conscious decision.

However, coming back to the game I'm enjoying the improvements and i fully understand that they need at least 3 more major patches of this nature and to polish each one that comes out ( bugs and features) but I'm now playing it again.

The key issue with games released with this state is it will never truly be ready.. be it a year from now or 2 i'd say the best thing is to let them know about the issues and hopefully they'll fix it pronto.

The game feels fun to play now and looks great but the mechanics and gears of the game kind of feel crunchy. Like it doesn't mesh together just right. But the game has been evolving so hard in the last few patches that I expect now is when we'll start getting to see them finally smoothed out.

I am on the opposite side. I think the tech tree is a success, as the player can plan ahead and choice the techs required for each situation, it is a boon for replayability and enjoying the campaign. I would like to have even more choice and planning, but that is another story.

On the levies/legion system. It is a matter of getting use to it. It solves one of the major flaws of the game, the infinite armies of the past. Now it makes sense, POPs are the limiting factor.

These changes were sorely needed to improve the game. Now, they need to iron out details and keep improving. I would suggest to give it more tries, it is less than a week from the patch and you have already judged?

Nevertheless, I like to read negative constructive comments too. They are instructive, thank you for sharing.

Let me just remind everyone about this thread, which got mostly negative reviews.

I smelled something strange.

I bought the last DLC on Day 1 with the intention to support the developers. My criticism was never aimed at hurting the game, but endorsing its growth.

This was my very first Day 1 purchase in my entire life. And the experience has proven that it was a huge mistake. Never again will I do that. Not with a Paradox game, or the one of any other developer.

Well, if you liked and played this game more, along with thousands of other people, maybe I:R wouldn't be cancelled. There's no point in cancelling game which is popular and many people play it.
