We sat down with Dr. Nicholas Morton (author of "The Mongol Storm" and historian at Nottingham Trent University) to talk about the fascinating history of the Great Steppe's nomadic peoples. Watch the latest episode of our medieval documentary series below!

The only thing I didn't like was the focus on the Mongols -- or perhaps that the video is mislabeled. Mongols weren't the only steppe society that mattered in the era CK3 covers and a lot of the military organization implicitly credited to their innovation existed on the steppes before the rise of the Mongol Empire. Giving a bit more time and attention to the Cumans, Kipchaks, Seljuks, etc. would've.done a lot to remedy the misperception that steppes = Mongols.
