I’ve gotten this idea for CK3 that involves hiding the traits of non-player characters, but adds a sort of reputation system instead. Essentially, the idea is that you can see what they have done to get a sense of what they’re like. What this actually means is that you won’t immediately know who may or may not be a conniving backstabber or incompetent in a role you might assign them.
Another feature of this system would be that characters could bribe the right people to inflate their own reputations or damage the reputations of others. This would make placing competent people into the correct positions more challenging. It would also mean that you could easily overlook characters who are supremely competent simply because they have a bad reputation.
I’m curious how feasible a system like this might be to implement, or if something similar has already been discussed before?
