A Song of Ice and Fire
-Game-Of-Thrones-A-Song-Of-Ice-And-Fire-Westeros-Targaryen-Baratheon-House-Stark-Tully-Fresh-New-Hd-Wallpaper--.jpg

It is past time we took another shot at a SOIAF game here on the forum. I find myself with some free time and excited to take a shot at GRR Martin's wonderful fantasy realm.

We shall join Westeros in the year 171 AC, shortly after the passing of King Bealor the Blessed. Viserys II of House Targaryen now rules the seven kingdoms and it is a time of peace, with Dorne now loyal to the Targaryens. Not much is known of this time frame and players have freedom to stray from the canon story and create their own conflicts and struggles. I do not expect this game to follow the canon timeline as put down by GRR Martin. This is our own story.

Players will control a single house, and titles, wealth and armies, attributed to that house. So one player, for example, will control the Starks, all members of the family, including any married into the family as of the game start, and Winterfell.

Committed ICers, I suggest the following houses of the Lord Paramounts; Targaryen, Stark, Baratheon, Lannister, etc. Another faction to consider, though not a dynasty, is the Night's Watch. Though players may send their character's to join the order, one player will be entrusted to act as the Lord Commander, and steer the path of Watchers on the Wall. Similar to the Night's Watch, Gold Cloaks, and the Kingsguard may be controlled by a player. Players are free to IC for any Maesters in their service, however the Maesters of the Citadel, specifically the Archmaester is NPC.

Though paramounts should be canon, some of you may wish to create your own dynasties - if that is the case, then you may play as High Lords sworn to the Paramounts. If you are looking for a more casual and detached experience, then I suggest you play as a vassal of one of the paramount dynasties.

To sign up please state clearly your desired dynasty, with it's prominent members and titles. Provide one of the following traits as well....

Skilled Tactician: Bonus chance to win battles
Charming Diplomat: Bonus chance to influence others through diplo orders.
Masterful Steward: Bonus your fief's income.
Elusive Shadow: Ability to wage plots.

This game is still a ways from completion - still working on stats and the exact mechanics, but it should be under way for next week.

You got a things for towers? :p

. . . No, of course not. What a ridiculous notion. Who would have a thing for towers? It's not like I ever tried to marry the Eiffel tower or something like that . . .

In all seriousness, I've been rereading the books as I wait for Winds of Winter. Just got to the part where they first met the Freys and that plus the Freys control of the crossing inspired me to choose them, then I thought about my campaign as the Hightowers in the AGoT mod for CKII and changed my mind.

Dynasty: Tully
