As the world erupted in flames, consiracies and corruption shook the stolid and honorable British High Command. Several trators were found, some executed. In these troubled times, with the very foundation of their military beliefs challenged, a change was needed.

First, an evaluation of the Empire.

It was quite obvious that with the forces available, if the Empire wanted to try to hold everything, it could very well lose it all. It was decided that Africa, the Middle East, the Americas and the South Pacific would recieve no new reinforcements. They would all try to hold the best they could with the forces available.

India and Indochina was second on the list. The good defensive terrain and superior firepower of the British divisions in the area would make holding this area feasable with little reinforcements.

The main area of concentration would be Ireland and then Spain, through Gibralter.

Only convoys to India and Gibralter were replenished, the Royal Navy would be unable to protect them all and Transport Command couldn't keep all of them running.

As for production, several militia units were started, to fill the ungarrisoned gaps in India. Remaining production was split between regualr infantry divisions and elite mountain divisions with eng brigades attached. Naval construction was ignored, as there were several hulls already laid.

Research would focus primarily on land tech as it was lagging behind the other European powers and there were many more tough land battles ahead than sea. With few convoys to protect, the Royal Navy could conserve its strength.

The command structure was also revamped. Older visioned commanders were sent to garrision duties while more modern thinking generals were given the tough assignments.

Countries mobilized and battles broke out as the countries geared up for war (all except Luxembourg, who had the dubious distinction of being the first country annexed on Jan 6th, even with their 1 infantry division)

Niiiiiice... are you going to be playing each major in turn? That would be a very interesting premise. Good luck by the way. I have a feeling you'll need it ;)

The first several months progressed much as expected. Convoy after convoy was hit by just about all navies of the world. By March only a few convoys other than those deemed 'unexpendable' were still running. The Royal Navy made a few sorties to ensure those convoys survival, but other than that they stayed in dock.

Ground was steadily being lost in central Africa as the three militia divisions there faced overwhelming assaults from the Italians, South Africans and one unit was even overun by the Ethipoians.

In India, the front was secured by the five militia units that were produced.
Bhutan and Nepal were annexed and some ground was gained against the Siamese.

The only thing that wasn't going to plan was the invasion of Ireland. While having numerical, technological and leadership superiority, the British land forces were beaten by the secret Irish weapon, the 'Snowflake of DEATH'. That lasted until March. The other weapon, 'Cold weather of lesser Death' followed and also prevented headway. Finaly, after much fist shaking in anger, they both left by April 18th. (I guess it was a VERY long winter and caused ALOT of unessisary casualties) Ireland was annexed 4 days later.

While this was a very very annoying delay, it allowed for more infantry units to be deployed. The Royal Navy sortied and on May 10th six infantry divisions were landed in Gibralter.

Heavy fighting and bombing would occur in this area for months to come. Being unable to fly their aircraft from England to Gibralter, the British army was forced to weather attack after attack by the Republican Air Force.

As slow headway was made in Spain, more ground was being lost in Africa. Gen Albershot lead a heroic defense in the Suez and then Alexandria (which ahd been captured several days earlier) but his forces looked doomed.
Ships of the Royal Navy tried to make their way in to evacuate his forces, but met heavy resistance from the Italians, Greeks and even Russian navies.

As the convoys to Gibralter had to be protected, Gen Albershot was ordered to hold as best he could with the forces available.

Go for the gold! I have faith in you!

Great update! Hmm, it seems portugal was annexed already, eh?
Very cool, and please keep providing us much-needed political maps for us to understand the situation, ok?

Semi-Lobster: The UK is all along in a massive world free-for-all
Jopi: Europe ahs had ALOT of really long winters which have cost me alot of MP
Nuclear Winter: I don't remember if Portugal was annexed at this point in the game or not

Despite massive arieal bombardments, a breakout was quickly made. With most of the Spanish forces in Northern France and even Belgium, there were few units to stop the relativly small British Army's advance. The Spanish were pushed back into the mountains of Vigo and Bilabao while the British Army took the well defensable mountain positions along the old French/Spanish border.

While this was happening, Gen Albershots command was surrounded in Alexandria and ahnililated. Only Gen Albershot and some five hundred POWs survived. The situation in Central Africa was worse. The three local militia divisions were hopelessly inadequate to face the forces there. The gathered and took up final defense positions in Dar el Eslam (sp), the only port in Africa still recieving supplies.

British positions in the Americas were taken without a fight and bermude was being bombed daily by the Americans. More transports were being sunk and only the vital convoys were still running. Hong Kong was overrun, the garrision surrendering due to lack of supplies.

The Indian theatre continued to progress better than expected. The Chinese, Siamese and Tibetans were pushed back, albeit slowly. When favorable conditions presented themselves, the British struck and gained ground. As the Spanish theatre and the Indian one continued to go well, the indian theatre was slowly upgraded from defensive to offensive stance.

Production started to also include crack mountain units to deal with the mountain terrain in both Europe and Indochina. These units, backed up with regular infantry and Motorized units (Artillery) would form the backbone of the British Army till R&D got decent tank designs ready for production

The Royal Navy set up areas of operation to protect these convoys, the safety of the Home Islands and the saftey of the Royal Navy itself. These protocols were set up early in the war (hence the early screenshot of the world) and lasted for several years

Only major naval battles denoted
Battles were fought against the Italians, Japanese, Americans, Germans, Soviets, Australians, and Spanish, with the RN usually comming out on top. However, much of the mixed Indian and Pacific fleets were drydocked for months due to heavy losses against the Japanese. But the convoys and vital supplies kept flowing

He hasnt the Manpower, theres no way in hell :D

You underestimate our friend Exterous, I say WC, easily, in fact hands down, all of Europe, Africa, whatever he puts his mind to, its his, I can guarantee success and for that I wont wish you good luck, One important thing is that you leave India and make a perimieter around India until your ready to commit. And forget about America, thats South and North, you either commit every single man you have to the destruction of the US or become best friends :)
