Classic AARs

For the last 3 years, Europa Universalis After Action Reports have been created, to bring to you, the reader, a glimpse into an alternative world. A world run by players, ruling mighty empires, changing history as they go along. Europa Universalis is the game that started it all. It also began the long and glorious tradition of After Action Reports. Many of those AARs, once finished, vanish into the forums, never to be seen again. Some are given awards and live on in spirit. But I am here to bring to you, in cooporation with Languish, the history of EU AARs. Classic AARs from the beginning.

Here in this thread I invited you to discuss the AAR listed, how you would have done things different, what was good, what was not so good, how the AAR's have changed, how the game has changed, if you think it has inspired you, if you remember it, etc. I hope to make this a monthly or twice monthly thread, where every 2 weeks or so I post the link to an old AAR, and then my oppinion. And from there we shall see what happens.

Classic AAR #1- The AAR which has the honor of being the oldest post time in the AAR thread.

I know that there are older AAr's in the General Discussion forum, but that is for another day. This one will celebrate the opening of the first AAR forum.

Anyway, when I went and read this it reminded me of something. This is how many people's first AAR starts. It is a detailed timeline. This AAR helped set the mold for what an AAR, in its basic form, was. Sure its not a novella, nor is it a detailed history report. But it does give us an insight into what the player was thinking, and what happened. I like it, and although I never read it, it was very similar to how my first AAR attempt turned out to be.

EDIT- only a whole lot better than mine.

So are people other than you and Languish allowed to post here? If not, I will quickly delete my post.

Oh yes, please do post. That is why its here, so you can all comment and do what you like. (Im not a mod, I dont make rules, I just pretend I have power and get a big ego... ;)

With the few readers we have, I thought it would be better if we did it by a month.
