AARrrrgh!
An Atrebates AAR

Okay, so some explanation is required. I had been playing a very successful Ilercavones game with Lofman's little mod up until yesterday evening..while simultaneously (not) studying for exams. After I got DOW'd by every nation in Gaul, Africa, and Germania, I ragequit...sort of. Rather, I loaded up every major power and imprisoned characters until there were massive region rebellions. Then I disbanded armies and navies as I was able...and now to watch the world tear itself apart. If a nation is still large its because I killed off all the characters and they refused to revolt.

So. Atrebates, 1 October 626 AUC. Lofman's little mod 1.4
Atrebtes is the little green state on both the mainland and Britannia. The red guys to the northeast and south east are Atrebates rebels...apparently I'm in a civil war. The grey to the east of me is...someone, the point is I'm at war with them.

My goals?
-take over all of Britannia? Yeah ok, why not?
-not die
-not die

I'm really not sure what I'll end up doing. I'll just try to survive. I'm not very good at this game. But now - some information!

The Senate!

..and finally, some general information. You can see me winning a battle - I beat that army and am besieging the territory.

An actual update, with gameplay and maybe humor (because let's be honest, when you rage and cause massive, continent-wide revolts, you can't be serious) will come soon!

Hope people enjoy...

Part 2: Civil War ends and....fat lot of good that did.

It turns out we're at war with Atrebates rebels (makes sense) and Suebi Germanic Inferior. My Vergobret (consul?) has decent stats so I tell him to kill things, while my other army joins him. I went to demand some territory from SBI and clicked white peace, so...awesome. At peace with them, but I'm doomed for fractured-land. We'll concentrate on killing the rebels. A ton of women join the rebels over the course of the war...odd.

After some boring battles, and the rebels fleeing to Anglii, we win the war. Here is fractured-land. Funny story about the rebels - none of the territories they controlled were cores. So I've got 9% revolt going in over half of my lands... >.> Similarly, I've got cores on Parisii, Bellovaci, Menopii, and Ampsivarii. I suppose my new goal would be to reunite these lands?

In various other news, I was allied and giving tribute to Suebi. Seeing as they were busy in civil wars as well as whatever you want to call the chaos, I politely told their tribute collectors to shove off. The alliance will possibly come in handy, since I have my eye on Parisii. The war's end also brought a new Vergobert, a military guy. Can't say I mind - his stats are pretty good. Hopefully he'll lead the push against which ever enemy looks weakest...

Lastly, here's the Senate. The Populists got a ton of support owing to me appointing a populist censor (whoops) and forgetting to try for an omen. Having 5 unused trade routes didn't help either. The populist leader is a disloyal wanker in control of my navy, so I'm debating whether or not to imprison him, take him out back to be shot, or wait for his 50-year-old self to die.

That's all for now - come back next time for...war?

Part 3: ....fraps.... *eyes narrow*

As the title would suggest, no screenshots were taken for a long period of time. This is probably due to the fact that when I reinstalled fraps it didn't use the hotkey I had assigned to the uninstalled one. Yes, all fraps' fault... :eek:o

So what happened? Many things. I'll bullet point them for easy comsumtion.
  • Ilercavones went through a few civil wars and is increasingly fractured...and allied to Parisii, whose only territory I have a core (and mission!) on
  • War with Parisii results in massive gains.
  • Suebi abadon our alliance and ally with Remi (red guy next to me) instead. This is an issue because I'd like a landbridge to my other territories, and since the senate won't let me revoke military access from Suebi Belgae Inferior, that was my best bet.
  • Barbarians took over Langobardi and formed a nation. I don't really care as I didn't have a core on it. Barbarians also sacked Cantii (Britannia) twice, so civilization levels now are in the low 30s...from the 49.6 it was at.

With that out of the way, pictures!

The world in September 647. The war with Parisii just ended, and we're recovering manpower and hopefully going to build up the infrastructure so the Populists stop their incessant whining.

That reminds me - my senate has become increasingly of the religious persuasion, so I figured I might as well go all the way and get an Aristocratic Republic, so I'm waiting on a religious Vergobret and we'll be good to go.
