It isn't possible to "sleep" a revolter, though, is it? That's what we'd have to do if we wanted a specifically named Arab/Muslim American republic.

So generically named revolters are the thing we have to do, unfortunately. Not to mention that having unique revolters for each colonizer culture group would take up all our tags and more.

If there are enough tags, could we have, I wonder, a single tag "The American Colonies" with the whole continent as extra provinces... an event then fires which checks the culture and/or religion of the provinces it owns and then secedes them to the appropriately named USA-like country, which doesn't itself appear as a revolter?
