D'oh. Ok, that was a small oversight on my part. Sorry guys.

Well - GH is supposed to be hard - much like the Timurids in vanilla - but if you feel that it is not hard but merely annoying then post again and discuss it with AD - I'll be ok with whatever he decides.

Error for the HSA

Hello,

I think I've noticed a little mistake for the Hanseatic League in major events :

event = {
id = 200226
random = no
country = HSA
name = "Dutch become integral part of the Hanseatic League"
desc = "As the Hansa followed the same religion as the dutch people it was only a quick matter that the dutch felt quite happy to become an integral part of the Hansa."

date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1585 }

action_a = {
name = "Welcome, brothers"
command = { type = add_countryculture which = dutch }
command = { type = domestic which = centralization value = 1 }
command = { type = stability value = 1 }
}
}

For this event the HSA is supposed to be a reformed nation to integrate the dutch culture but it doesn't work because the sleepevent is linked to the choice of protestant religion :

event = {
id = 200225
random = no
country = HSA
name = "Religious Decisions"
desc = "As Religion became a more and more important issue in the 16th century the Hanseatic League was nearly torn apart by the difficulties of appeasing all religious factions."

date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1560 }
offset = 360
deathdate = { day = 1 month = january year = 1580 }

action_a = {
name = "Embrace the new reformed faith"
command = { type = religion which = reformed }
command = { type = domestic which = centralization value = -1 }
command = { type = domestic which = aristocracy value = -2 }
command = { type = domestic which = innovative value = 2 }

command = { type = revolt which = -1 }
command = { type = conversion which = -2 }

command = { type = conversion which = -1 }
command = { type = conversion which = -1 }
command = { type = stability value = -5 }
command = { type = sleepevent which = 200226 }

}

Maybe the last command should be placed at the end of the a) choice ?

Sleepevent means that the event will not be able to happen - so if protestant(b) sleeps the event then that means that only reformed (a) will get it.

Exact : I've made a mistake during the second choice. That's why I didn't get the dutch culture :(

Not sure if this is supposed to be like this, but it seems the leaders and monarchs simply don't load for many countries. The leader and monarch files are there, just nothing in the save.

Hanseatic League, Union of Kalmar are the 2 I've noticed straight off, and Sicily's monarchs do not laod either.

I, too, had a problem with a Hanseatic Monarch:

In event 200205 I chose action a (Stanislas Stoick) over b (Meinardus Buxtehude). Result: No monarch change. Erik Pleskow, (action c in event 200204), stays.

If the monarch already exists, there is no way to displace him. So you ahve to wait until he dies.

?

You simply use the command 'monarch=' for a dormant monarch that has a suitable (already passed) date and the present king should be replaced?
After all, it is not the deathdate that assigns new monarchs, but only startdate.

I was thinking of something else :eek:o. You're right of course.

Event 202188 in the epo_hus file, treaty of Vienna for Hungary in option B gives -200 relations and casusbelli for Hungary on Hungary. I think this should be Bavaria getting the - relations and casusbelli.

Bavaria’s seems to be right, but shouldn’t the country not claiming it all get the casusbellie vs the other one, not the other way around?

Edit- Both treaties seem to fire, the not for Bavaria's treaty is pointing to the wrong event, it should be 202188 not 202181.

Well, I thought there were some, since I haven't read many of the other nations events, but during the weekend I have come to realize that russian culture (contrary to my belief) is being handed out like half-penny candy, so here is a suggested replacement event.

Code:
#Russians accept GH overlordship
event = {
	id = 200429
	trigger = {
		OR = {
			event = 200416
			event = 200422
		}
		flag = ruthenian
	}
	random = no
	country = STE
	name = "Empowerment of the russians"
	desc = "Yeremferden had an excellent grasp of realpolitik and is possibly the only ruler in the history of the Golden Horde that could possibly have turned a century of oppression into a reasonably peaceful coexistence, had he thought it worth it."
	style = 2
	date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1570 }
	offset = 200
	deathdate = { day = 1 month = january year = 1581 }
	action_a = {
		name = "There are more important matters"
		command = { type = stability value = 2 }
		command = { type = domestic which = centralization value = 2 }
		command = { type = conversion which = -1 }
		command = { type = conversion which = -1 }
	}
	action_b = {
		name = "Allow them equality"
		command = { type = stability value = -4 }
		command = { type = add_countryculture which = russian }
		command = { type = domestic which = centralization value = -3 }
		command = { type = domestic which = serfdom value = -2 }
		command = { type = treasury value = -400 }
	}
}

Still not free, but much closer to what ruthenian costs for those who have lost that (if one remembers that keeping ruthenian is expensive in itself).

When I get some spare time I'll take a look at late game to see if I get any ideas for events (and probably discuss with Archie if I do)

Hello, just tried this mod. Very cool, but everytime I try to save, the game crashes.

I installed clean EU2, patch 1.08, latest beta, EGUFSM and then Aberration 1.05.

EDIT: Btw. it's a custom folder, not my ordinary EU2 folder.

I figured out the problem. It was mentioned in the Aberration Bug Reporting Thread (the first one I think), but haven't been fixed I guess. Strange no one else has this issue.

This is the quote from that thread:

I found what was causing the crashed, in case someone has the same problem, here is what I did.

This line
name = "The Aberrated Grand Campaign"
was missing from the .eug scenario file. Maybe the file was from an older version of the mod and wasn't overwritten or something... Anyway, now it saves correctly and the game with Aberation hasn't crashed to desktop since.

It needs to be added inside the header = { *here* }.

Pascal, currently playing as aberrated Byzantium.

When I added the line, saving the game worked again.

Regards Falstaff

Btw.: I downloaded the rar-file, maybe there's no problem with the zip?

Btw, isn't bureucrat valid american english?

Well, I think I use Byzantium and Byzantion both in the descs. Byzantion is afaik greek version. It's rather random which I use, somewhat like with when having sometimes neighbour and others neighbor.

FYI - it's "bureaucrat" in America as well as England. The main differences in spelling between varieties of English:

In the Queen's English, words like "armor", "neighbor", and "color" are spelled with an "our".
In American English, it's spelled and pronounced "aluminum" rather than "aluminium".
In Canada the last letter is spelled and pronounced "zed"; in America it is "zee". Not sure about England.

@ Falstaff, will check what you mean.

I see. Well, for a non-native it seemed quite similiar to the mentioned example "armor" - "armour".

No, the O/OU thing is unique; doesn't carry over to other types of vowels.

The other main differences between British and American English...

Words that end in "r" sounds, in Britain, are usually spelled with an -re ending; in America the same words are spelled with an -er ending...

Also some high-technology objects (those invented after roughly 1800) tend to have different terms completely; however, one of the two, usually the American one, will almost always be similar to French instead.

As Sicily in 1454 the game ctd. It says something about similar leaders in the range 10301-10313 on loadup, I think. Problems came after Cornwall became a new Nation from revolts.

I looked in the savegame, and the new Cornwall nation has the same historical leader ID's as Brittany.

I added the savegame.

PS: Can I change the numbers myself? And if so, to which numbers? I would like to continue my game:)

EDIT: Wohoo! "You, my good man, have just been promoted to Captain. Congratulations." :cool:
