Ok, I am beginning to look over my own notes and look stuff of Abe II over. The two projects Abe I and Abe II will stay seperated, but as MattyG and I decided it may be impossible to merge our two visions into one (we see about that still). I may ask that Abe II will have its name changed to avoid confusion, but the forum will stay the home for Abe II.

If possible I would like to have some discussion in this thread about things that have been put in Abe II and which I will or not put into Abe I to produce a new version of Aberration (Aberration 1.1).

For now, some changes that were introduced were not to my liking, especially the ressurection of France which goes totally against the spirit of Aberration itself (no vanilla major powers). I hope to find the time over the next few days to revise all the rest.

Hmm, could someone perhaps give a clue of what happened and changed between the two?

I have played both, but when abe2 came out I figured I didn't need 1 anymore, so I dunno quite what changed.

That´s what I am trying to figure out at the moment.:)

Some stuff I can remember:-

Caliphate has been boosted quite significantly, and a lot of events given to the Muslim world.

Golden Horde and Byzantium and Ukraine have stayed similiar I think although their files are no longer as good as they were, less cores etc

Union of Kalmar and Finland are pretty similar.

Teutonic Order and Hansa have been redeveloped with a complex series of events modelling the rise and falls and a civil war in the TO

Scotland have been nerfed, and have a very long series of events to give industrial reform

Eireland are pretty similiar in overall concept

I think Hungary and Bavaria are also the same in concept, although they have been toned down in strength

Savoy, Brittany, Burgundy have been radically redesigned in many ways, but I can't say with any more detail

Granada has been given a new religion to convert to and has less interest in South France

The Italian states are pretty similiar with more events

The American nations are now more competitive

And in general leaders are less powerful, explorers and conquistadors are less powerful and last less time. Events tend to not give out cores and cultures, and there are more negative events

Well, from what I see the less cores a nation has the more difficulty it has to establish herself.

Sicily has no cores to speak of, and the division of gaul seems to have gone.

Why all the toning down anyway, I didn´t have the feeling some stuff was overpowered.

Well, others did. :D

Maybe, read all of the threads from March of last year and bone up on the discussions and why certain decisions were made. It's a lot to try an summarise in a post for you, or anyone else. ;)
