All the time new stuff is added, bugs are being corrected, stuff balanced and so on - just to keep you people updated about this . Also, see the new loading screen, made for A4K specially by thrashing mad!

One question: Is it possible to use that mod, while I also have AGCEEP on my hard drive, or can I only have one of these mods on my EU because they use/change the same files.

So do I have to remove AGCEEP first or can I just add Aberrration 4 Kasperus ?

It's Aberration. With a double 'r' - I misspelled it when I was setting up this topic.

You would have to have another installation of EU2, like with all map mods - it alters the files from the Map folder, which would make your vanilla/AGCEEP unplayable.
You can have another install by just making a copy of the whole EU2 folder - there you can load up A4K :).

Should you have any problems with it, write. And once you play the game, please, write some feedback! ;)

A small update for Aberration for Kasperus was uploaded recently. The full (small, but noticeable already) list of changes is available HERE. You can download the newest version of A4K (0.82) from the link provided in the first post of this thread. As usual, all feedback is very welcome. It has been playtested and should work as desired, unless one messes something with the installation. You can install it over your older A4K version, just replace all files when prompted.

nice map in the first post!
You would need a clean install of EU2 1.09 with WATK installed over it. Then, the installation of A4K is easy. Do try, nobody reported problems with the new version on the Polish boards. ;)

does that mean : play Poland? ;)
i tried over and over and probably will try again this weekend, but it's that "extracting rar.file" and replacing map thingies where it goes wrong every time. I think.

Well, Poland is supposed to give you some nice playing (I modded it in ), but isn't finished yet - to be exact, it doesn't have events post-1550.

Can't really help you, unfortunately - everyone I know who has the mod didn't have much problems with it. Could you describe what exactly is going on? Btw, don't run it through moddir, but via the .bat file in the Aberration folder.

He's right, the game is prone to crashing whenever one chooses a nation and proceeds to the loading screen. But there is a way to get around this, as well as using the moddir. :) You have to overwrite the vanilla map with watk3.11, then install the AB4K, THEN overwrite the map again with the AB4K. Sounds a bit stupid, but it was the only way I could get it to work. And work it does, like a charm.

I have played two nations to the 1560's so far: the Hanseatic League and Brittany.

1. Hansa: good balance of events and opportunities. Very satisfactory and quite easy to utterly crush the Kalmar Union alone or with the help of Scotland-Norway. However, I feel that the Sund crisis should grant cores to the Hansa immediately after the "Let us have our due" option for Kalmar. Or at least when the Hansa has conquered the region - due to its sheer importance (historically).

One small issue would be the time when the Teutonic Order annexes Danzig and decides to return it to the Empire. The event itself is worthless for the League, because it merely confirms a core, which it already has, while Danzig remains a vassal to the Teutonic Order.

This relationship with the Teutons could also be much better exploited further in a series of events which would see the two powers fighting to expand their influence further in Russia. (the Teutonic Order crusades, while the Hansa trades along the Volga). Too bad the Order can't relinquish its baltic lands as a "lease" to the Hansa (which can become permanent if the player so chooses - AND if the Hansa remains Catholic) in exchange for hefty financial (and possibly military support in its Russian crusade).

In other news, it was very, very entertaining to fight trade wars as well as real wars in such a spread out empire - one war against Scotland was particularly interesting. I don't think I've maneuvred like that in a long time for victory. Becoming the dominant colonial force can be pretty easy if you grab the Carribean and its hinterland. The way to the Incas and Aztecs (without events sadly) is open. And thus, when I left it, the empire was more than filthy rich, in NO alliance whatsoever and at peace since the early 1500's.

2. Brittany is a bit simpler, because you only have 2 major strategic areas to concern about in the beginning. The beginning is very easy if you play your cards right and declare war on Scotland. You have a fantastic leader who, equiped with cavalry can and will utterly crush anything in his path on the English plains as well as the French forests in the south. By 1500, I had annexed Scotland (diplo), as it is of no use as an ally - although it had been of great assistance earlier as the Hansa. (this time they just piled 47k troops in Wales and sat there whenever I was at war). And now a century to go until the Union of Great Bretain...

Granada poses an interesting question, because the southern border of France is in a near constant state of war and I was forced to defend myself three times in 20 years, until I got fed up with it and I swarmed them completely. The need for Crusade related and Liberation of Iberia related events is dire here.

3. The world: Usually, the Iberian theatre of war is very interesting, with the frontline swinging back and forth in a very realistic manner (usually) which I have never seen before in other mods. (including MyMap).

A close second would be the Central European front: Bohemia-Silesia-Bavaria.

I was thrilled to actually see the very nice "Fed to the lions, thrown to the wolves" event for Genoa and Istria WORK FOR THE FIRST TIME in about 40 games.

Something needs to be done about Ukraine. It gains a good size early on, but it too often starts by annexing Kiev and in 2 out of 3 games it gets thoroughly kicked or disintegrates altogether after a century or so.

Byzantium and the Balkans, always a challenge, with many paths open to expansion, recession and development. This includes Wallachia and Moldavia which could become part of the Bulgarian Empire of Vice-versa. Oh, and Ragusa, definitely needs to be given a change to grow in the Levant, Egypt maybe and later the new world. (historically, Ragusan ships were seen as far as India in the 1500's)

This is what I have so far, will give more feedback in a week or so when I try other countries and make them do my evil bidding.

Thank you for this great mod!

Thanks for your feedback, it is much appriciated. :)

So should we remove the Hansa´s inital core on Danzig and add a break vassalization command to the event?

Well, Johan made Brittany in the original mod so it´s no surprise he gave her Richemont and the dreaded Turenne. Powergamer... :D

Really? It triggered in most of my games - unless Istria is allied with Hungary.

The same is true for the Teutonic Order. Once the AI runs out of troops those nations are doomed.

Oh, and Ragusa, definitely needs to be given a change to grow in the Levant
Hmm, the Levant.....a region I´ve never considered for them. i just can´t see little Ragusa challenging the mighty (too mighty for my tastes) Kaliphate.
I had the idea to give them an event in the direction of "Mare Adriaticum - Mare Nostrum" which gives her cores on some provinces bordering the sea.

And btw: Feel free to add your comments (or even events? *hint*) in this forum: http://forum.eufi.org/forumdisplay.php?f=390. Maybe this will make two non-Poles there. :D

Most certainly. Otherwise it is pointless.

Well, I must admit I was talking about times when I, as Genoa didn't cause the war (a war in which I was supposed, naturally, to be allied to Hungary).

Well, yes the Mare Addriaticum seems really feasible. And they could at least try to take Crete and Cyprus if they are not in Catholic hands. And indeed, the Kaliphate is obscene, pretty similar to Granada. Luckily they don't have Latin tech or some other nonsense.

I would gladly make events, but first I must learn how exactly:D. My knowledge of history is MUCH more reliable than my EU 2 editing skills (although I've been playing the game for some years now).

Off-topic-ish: My first choice would be to make a sort of events which makes it harder for a country to convert mountainous provinces (plus extra atrittion) due to the simple fact that mountain areas are always EXTREMELY conservative and hostile towards ANY outside force.(One could encounter weird and mostly nominally "Christian" societies in Sardinia and Corsica or northern Spain, as late as the 17th century) Not to mention the fact that the game really sucks at stimulating logistics and proper geographical features.

An event such as the one you speak of is not possible with the current EU2 engine - though you might want to suggest something similar to the EU game code modders team ;).

Both ideas (Basileios's about Adriatic being an inner sea for Ragusa and yours about giving them possibilities to expand onto Cyprus/Crete) are cool, I approve of them :D. I'd like to see a Ragusa allied (or just with good relations and common enemies) with Kaliphate, against e.g. Byzantium...

BTW, modding EU2 is very simple, believe me. If you wish to know more about it, do check THIS out. Havard's bible contains practically everything you need.
That is, if you'd decide to help us with A4K - we'd be really grateful.
