otherwise you get those weird results for Portugal, and could get similar ones for England and other small countries

Just want to know if all you people that complain about 'too low recruitingpool', have you ever pushed that 'wartax' button ??

It raises conscription (+100%) and taxes for a period of 6 (?) months.
Shure it will give you -1 stab but for small countries it costs virtually nothing to gain it back.

If you haven't, drop this complaining untill you do.

LOL! While I concur with your logic Huszics, this ruins a very fertile area of ethnic-pride whining for the small colonial powers! :)

On the other hand, will this overcome the max-total-forces available limitations for these countries? If not, I believe you will find this does not satisfy. Foreign provinces of significant size like India or Central, South America become impossible to defend for small European colonizers without local conscription, well within the historical scope of this game, unless they are willing to denude the defense of their home country. Not an elegant condition.

Opps, sorry didn't mean to do that =). Just got momentarilly fed up with people complainging about game inballance before even trying out the different options. Anyway I'm fine now so please continue the whining ,-).

Ehhhm, what is this ? Never heard about it before. In my games the only limits to how much troops your allowed to have is how many you can actually pay upkeep for.
The forcepool max limit is just the max you can reqruit in one go and equals up to 2 years worth of manpower that you may have saved up.

Thus if your country recieve say 10.000 men per year, you could in ten years have a 80.000 strong army or as little as 0 and in both cases have a full reqruite reserve of 20.000 men.

Thus what people are complaingin about is that small (in europe) counties cannot massproduce 100.000+ troops in a single year even if they have the money. For me this is just one of the aspects of the game, some countries have to plan ahead and preserve their forces much more then others. This doesn't necesarily mean it's an imbalance or a bug, but it does require a somewhat different playstyle from say Russia or Turkey.

Emmmm.... wrong again !

I, Portugal, conquered Rome now.
Thus, more than doubling my population 'on the continent'.
But my recuiting pool still ays 20k, with 10k new soldiers adding every year.

WHAT'S WRONG NOW ?
HOW TO INCREASE PORTUGESE ANNUAL SOLDIER GROWTH ?

I think there is some minimum level of 20k +10k per year inplemented.

Check what your current total manpower is. If it's 10 or lower still, try taking a few more provinces and get back to us. If your already over 10 however I don't have a clue.
