Achievement and mods?

How do mods and achievement work together?
Is it possible to still gain achievements even if you run a mod?
Does it differ between different mods, as it do in many other paradox-titles with "Ironman"?

Just confirmed it. Downloaded a mod and received the "In the High Tower" achievement after building an Arcology Spire. As far as I know, there is no Ironman mode in this game. Just seeing how high of a difficulty bonus one can get and how long they can last. It would be difficult for the game to recognize the difference between mods. So achievements should work with any mod. The only possibility is that certain achievements don't allow mods, but I doubt this is the case.
