I've been reading about achievements in DW, and that you cannot have them if you mod savegame files in any way. So I was wondering if developers are planning to give players option to somehow free some county or duchy which isn't on default starting roster, so we could play with them AND get the achievements.

E.g. I want to play with count of Hum and later on upgrade him to status of Duchy of Bosnia, but in 1066, at least in CK I, Hum wasn't independent. And, if I remember correctly, It was in direct control of some other count or duke.

And AFAIK, in Victoria II if you wanted to play any state that isn't in starting roster you had to start game with appropriate country, release the state in question, and edit savegame file to play it.

In CK1 (and most likely also in CK2) you can play as any county, just make it into a county ruled by a count and then save and reload as the count of Hum.

That is what i am talking about. If you do that in DW you cannot get any achievements. I was wondering if there would be a mechanism beside that.

A feature in Victoria 2 allows you to immidiately play as the country you release. I assume CK2 will also get this feature. As such, the save game may be able to circumvent that issue by using the game's build-in feature for the game.

However, I would also argue that it is a bug in DW and they are probably working on it.
