Combined Fleet Squadron #1 has fired its missiles. They will follow them in, to keep the Prix ship within Fire Control range.

Three missiles shot down by Point Defense, the rest started hitting... and then a size-26 internal explosion ripped the Prix ship apart. Target destroyed. Good job by the Fighters... our warships never came within firing range of the enemy.

Whats the situation on the second?

No change. It hasn't moved at all. It's a couple of billion km away... they might not even be aware that an engagement has been fought.

Congratulations on the victory blue emu!

That was our first air-strike with Fighters that are actually faster than our Carriers instead of slower. I thought it went pretty well. Let's try to knock out the second ship with just the Fighters, instead of trying to sneak our whole fleet into range... which didn't seem to work anyway. The fleet will only approach the Prix close enough to launch the Fighters.

EDIT:

All of the Fighters have been recovered, refueled, and rearmed for a strike against the other Prix ship.

I'll continue the game later.

Another glorious victory Oh Almighty Emu! May all other primary colors tremble in fear of blue!

I assume we'll be collecting the wreck while our fighters are busy with the next ship, correct?

Actually... by coincidence, the task force that he's closing in on is the one with both of the fast Rock-IIIs in it. 6500 kps instead of the usual 4000. I'm tempted to send them out ahead, and see if he wants to ram them. They've got twenty layers of armor... if he does ram them, his ship will probably fold up like a paper hat.

Really? I would have thought a ramming atack at these speeds would kill anything.

That's the plan, yes.

A ramming attack by a ship of that size will do about 150 points of damage... which will penetrate twelve layers of armor. The Rocks have sixteen, and the Rock-IIIs have twenty.

Or send the fighters and let him try to ram them. A similar Percursor ship tried that for 15 minutes in my game - eventually his buddy with size-1 missiles destroyed said fighter.

Very good job so far. 2nd one will be just as easy now :)

Oh. Actually 7500 tons hitting at 16000kp/s is only about 6.8 megatons, right? I guess if our ships are armoured against large nukes it's not that bad.

Congrats on the victory mighty Emu!

And congrats on 300 pages as well.

Hurrah!
What a difference in performance now compared to the first battle.

Well, there's also the fact that this was a single, unarmed ship instead of a Prix fleet that was firing back :) I'm glad the fighters got some action though.

I was actually talking just about the fighters, but I forgot to include that in my post.

Being able to fire and destroy things are far better then being killed ;)

Nice to see the new fighters doing their jobs.

Yes. Most of our characters have moved up to armed ships of one sort or another.

Sounds like we need an influx of fresh Prix-bait.

Um, I mean we need expand the enjoyment of this wonderful game/AAR to other Paradoxians for completely selfless reasons... :D
