2 options for next session

1. Sunday March 21 at 16:00 GMT
2. Monday March 22 at 17:00 GMT

all confirm pls

I vote Sunday : :)

My preference is Monday but could probably make Sunday too.

One detail of note was Default's diplomatic blitz on Nationalist China. Maybe he was affected by lag but he made three influences at one time which is an exploit if done deliberately. It's dangerous to repeat-click diplomatic options when they don't seem to be reacting - they stack up and you can run up a large deficit in DI.

And supposing Germany did manage to coup Nationalist China? I have an idea that this would cause me to be bounced out of the game. And maybe then he would invite Nationalist China into the Axis. I don't mind any of that - it's up to the other powers to influence me back. But the house rules say that Nationalist China must join the Allies and not before the USA is in the war. Best to sort this out before it happens ...

Second Session

The second session was much better connectivity wise (Vnet being down we used direct ip) and we moved from February 37 to April 39.

Since the “no war till 38” rule was in effect, as everybody expected the world erupted Jan 1, 1938.

Italy took Albania, Yugoslavia, Greece and later Portugal.

Japan declared war on China, but after a short initial advance that allowed it to seize Beijing and a few provinces, was stalemated and stopped. The front has been mostly static till April 39.. China now sports the largest active army in the world with some 120 divisions.

The soviets seized Persia, Rumania, Bulgaria and Hungary.. The germans declared war on Rumania after the soviets, but were beaten to Bucarest. Thereafter they made peace with Rumania and the hitherto aggression forces tried to assist the Rumanian defense. Those quickly collapsed however and 3 german infantry divisions were trapped in Rumania while others fled by sea and others still –in violation of international convention and house rules- fled to Bulgaria via unlawful military access. German diplomacy then engaged in a futile attempt to build an anti comintern crusade.

The Czechs for some reason declined to cede the Sudetenland… Thus by April 39, czecoslovakia has retained full territorial integrity. The Poles, joined the allies as early as mid 38….

The London air show seems to have demonstrated a marked technical edge for the British aviation industry, but will that be enough to enable the Empire to hold its positions around the world as talks of general war grow louder ?

All have confirmed now for Sunday, so tha game is on at 17:00 CET, about 90 mn from now
I suppose that you mean CEST now that the clocks here have gone forward (Central European Summer Time).

I don't recall what I said about this but will be giving priority to a 1.06 beta session at 20:30 CEST so may retire at that point. The AI can probably take it from here in Nationalist China ...

The End

October 1940: A repentant Hitler proposes unconditional surrender to Stalin

It appears it was all a big misunderstanding. Some radical elements in the German leadership had misinformed the fuehrer. These elements have been shot. Germany extended its deepest apologies and sympathies to the Soviet Union and promised not to do it again.

From July to October 1940 there was heavy and mobile fighting on the eastern front... However the soviet mechanized forces grew ever stronger reaching a total of 64 divisions, still less than the Germans but enough to forestall the German armored thrusts and hit back..

In Turkey and Egypt disaster befell the Italian army harried by the british and the soviets.. Soon the Italian forces in Turkey were pushed back to Greece and destroyed there, while in Africa a large Italian force was encircled in Port Said and dispatched.. After this Italy was left with less than 30 divisions and the UK was landing in Italy. Soviet forces moved up the Balkans to Sarajevo and Budapest, while UK forces advanced up the Yugoslav coast.

Japan joined the axis in October, and the USA joined the allies as well. This was the last straw for Germany. While its panzer forces were still a fearful tool, its manpower reserves were down to the last 100,000 men. Its southern flank was wide open, with soviet forces advancing in Czecoslovakia and Hungary. The US entry into the war and a strong UK meant that landings on the western front would come soon. The whole whermacht was entangled in fights in Russia, and the German leadership apparently felts that if significant forces were moved out of Russia then the German front there would collapse.
