Greetings,

First thing I'd like to say is a big thank you to the development team, you've created a great game that has given me many hours of enjoyment. I hope the game will continue to improve and that the community here continues to thrive.

I'd just like to make a few suggestions that I feel would greatly improve the game experience. One thing that many others have already brought up is the hopeful future inclusion of the train stations, airports, theme parks, intercity passenger and freight trains as well as the barges that the first game had. These additions would really give the impression of a living, breathing city that goes about it's business regardless of your input. The only thing I would add to this is that if these things do get brought back into the game they should be places of much activity, with lots of foot traffic and maybe congested roads around them with a more or less constant flow of people who need to be brought to and from these places. As a small aside, would it be too difficult to add taxis to the game? It would seem natural that if you fail to provide sufficient transportation to people then they could be served by taxis which could also double as visual hints of places that need better transportation.

Another cool addition would be events that take place in your city from time to time, such as sporting events, festivals, political conventions, and other such things. For the duration of these events your city could see greatly increased traffic and congestion as many more people are visiting the city. Depending on the way you handle things these events could be very profitable both in monetary terms and reputation if you are able to handle the greater load of passengers well, or they could be detrimental to your reputation if you bungled the opportunity.

One last thing that could be a good addition would be weather. Bad weather such as heavy snow or rains that could clog up your system could be interesting. Perhaps during these periods of time you would have to spend much more money in an effort to keep your system running smoothly.

Well that's it, just thought I'd throw out a few ideas. Perhaps many of these are too difficult to implement but if they aren't I believe they could add a lot to the enjoyment of the game. Thanks again.

All good suggestions. I really like the idea of events in the city. Something like mardi gras, a festival, street parade, roadworks or other construction. All of these challenges could cause traffic issues and give more passengers. The event could have a location marked with a timer for when it's going to start, so you may have 30 in-game minutes to organise routes that won't interfere, yet still provide transport to the area.

I remember when i played CIM1 in the tutorial they had a parade event, but in the game itself parade events didn't exist. Maybe they scrapped the idea later, but it would be good if we can have parades, and the fires and car accidents from CIM1.

Yes the parade was very nice. It should be included in CiM 2. Military parade plus protesters and the ability to change ruleset variables with scenario editor would open a whole new world for CiM 2. Right now there are very few campaigns out there. Just because the scenario editor forces ppl to make boring campaigns with no flexibility.

Especially with the size of the maps in CIM 2 and the big cities people have created thus far, it all definitely looks nice and there are large transportation networks to be made, but without airports, train stations, events, etc., these cities just seem kind of empty in a way and kind of dead, their size only drawing more attention to the fact that these things are missing. Also, I was thinking of something regarding building new tracks or roads, as it is right now you can literally wipe out entire blocks of buildings to make way for your network without any problem. I think that doing such a thing should be very costly to your reputation and also should/could be a trigger for protest events and/or boycotts against your company that would hurt you financially as well, perhaps with large groups of angry protesters surrounding your buses and/or blocking your train tracks or something, I don't know, maybe that's too in depth.

That was even possible in CiM 1. Unfortunately in CiM 2 scenario editor do not change any of the ruleset variables and protests animation was removed.

Would be nice. Something I really miss from CIM 1 is the honking of horns when cars got stuck in traffic. When traffic gets really heavy and cars start merging like they do, or idle for longer then usual you start to hear them honk there horns. Would be pretty cool.

Vehicles do not honk their horns when stuck in traffic queues here in the UK! It's not only stupid, it's highly anti-social.

Actually, parades and such were annoying in CIM1. They just happened, blocked your road lines, and you could do nothing about it.

They could work in a completely different mission and routing system, which is something I was thinking about: rather than having missions like "connect A and B with this kind of line", which very rarely make sense from an economic and company strategy point of view, there should be city events, like the aformentioned parade, or roadworks, sport events, conventions, concerts, etc., with warning in due time (say, one week in advance) so that you can temporarily reroute lines and/or add dedicated new services for the entire duration of the event to provide access to it and avoid the blocked or busy areas.

This sounds like a good idea!
+1

sport events, conventions, concerts, etc.
these could also create more traffic and more customers by acting like a landmark for a specific location for a week or two. But one thing that must be noted is that the evnts should last longer than a day or two maybe a couple of weeks even a month/4 weeks
