Please help this reformed warmonger. :)

It's 1561 and Russia finally has a Conquistador. Siberia is opening up before my eyese, but wait. I'm sure I read somewhere here that you could add unaggressive natives to your colony. How? Do you need a city first? Is there a button to push? I'd hate to waste the manpower if it could be avoided. Thanks.

Yes, you can. You just have to build colony to city (700 population) and voila- natives join your colony and you have a bit larger city. Keep sending colonists and keep a small army in the province just in case natives decide they don't like you and massacre entire colony. But don't keep troops to big: they will annihilate natives then and you will lose native bonus.

Good luck!

And you finally saw the light :)

There's the bulb to prove it. :D

Thanks for the answer. I was hoping they'd join a level 1 colony and save me some ducats, but the boost after you make a city is nice.

Mercifully everyone is leaving me alone. *knock on wood* I had a period between 1540-1550 where everyone attacked me even though all I did was answer the call of an ally. 1550-1560 saw rebellions across the board as they got war fatigue. Finally I paid off someone simply to stop the damn war. Peace at last. :)

This is good for getting an emerging centre of trade in your province too.

It would appear that the biggest colony is where a CoT will appear in a region that is being colonised.
