adding new regions?

How do you add new regions? Also, how do you get the colour on it. I added a region and it's all black. I wanted it to have a colour.

I just combined the regions of the British Isles into one and It's kinda cool but it says UNKOWN STRING ATTACHED instead.

Colours are hard-coded. If you want see a region actually in the game and have allready assigned some provinces to it, it might be because of a typo? IIRC are the names of the regions hard-coded but you can change their translations.

Actually the entry in my worldnames.csv file looks like this:

REGION_ENGLAND;England;Angleterre;Inghilterra;Inglaterra;England;Anglia;;Àíãëèÿ;;;x

Your translations are correct but as you can see you've renamed the region itself. Since its name is hard-coded it can't be changed. It's a necessity that your region is named 'REGION_ENGLAND' even if you use it to model a part of South America. Don't worry, 'REGION_ENGLAND' itself won't show up in your game. You'll get to see the translations depending upon on language you've picked at game start.

If you change your entry in the worldnames.csv file like this it should work:

REGION_ENGLAND;British Isles;Angleterre;Inghilterra;Inglaterra;England;Anglia;;Àíãëèÿ;;;x

Being able to freely add and rename areas and regions is one of my biggest wishes as it would massively improve new maps like AOD/E3.

EDIT: Just in case anyone is wondering why there is a space in middle of the name 'Inglaterra' in my first quote in the post above: there's actually none but the forum software has decided to include one for "display purposes".

Ah right. I just made the whole British Isles as one region and made the nations in the UK as areas. I have also done this to USA, Russia, south America Scanavainia. I just need to do Africa but it's very complex there.
