Hi all, I'm trying to add historical bloodlines from one mod to another, is there a simple way of doing this? I've tried to copy and paste the bloodlines folder across but it's had no effect. I'm guessing this is half of the job (as the original mods bloodline folder has all the details for the custom bloodlines in the mod), but what else?

Can someone help me please?

Thank you for the pointer it did help me find some other things i need to do but unfortunately the mod with the bloodlines makes too many changes (such as replacing vanilla religions of characters) that it messes up the game when i transfer the folders.

Is it maybe easier to add the bloodlines to the base game folders? (I dont know how to create a separate mod instead of editing the vanilla files).

So far I've worked out i need to:

1. Go to bloodlines folder and create the bloodline,
I'm adding a bloodline called

'Dinga', 0.2 prestige, 5+ combat and +5 soninke opinion to 'Dramane', first ruler of Cisse dynasty in Ghana.

2. Go to character folder and add line to the character i'm trying to assign it to, (create bloodline) etc. I've just copied the code from a different bloodline and pasted it in but changed the details that are needed, such as bloodline name ('dinga').

3. ???

When i do above the character in assigning this to, the first ruler of Cisse dynasty, called Dramane, it screws up the Cisse dynasty and it disappears from the game lol.

I also wanted to change Dramanes name to Dinga, which I did successfully, but whether I do that or not the bloodline part doesnt work, and the dynasty disappears when i load the game.

I'm guessing there is a third part im missing? Possibly in the localisation folder im guessing but i dont know, like for example how and where do I add the flavor txt?

I did have a look in the base games localisation folder and opened up the holyfury.csv in there but it was too big for my open source excel and the lines that did load (which was a lot) wasnt helpful.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

If they both change the same things, you literally need to merge the files that change the same things. You need to make a file that contains the changes from both mods.

Notepad++ has a feature that lets you see the differences between two documents. If, say, two mods both change a file like 00_bloodlines.txt, you can load it up in Compare in Notepad++ and it will show you how they are different from each other so you can fix things accordingly.

Hi! Thanks for replying, cheers for the heads up re: Notepad++; unfortunately though the mod i'm taking the bloodlines from does major changes besides bloodlines so merging the mods might not be possible (I actually just want bloodlines, not the other features, so I can play both mods separately still, since they offer different things generally).

Great point! Thanks for the link, i did try to make my own mod but didn't know how to make it show up in the launcher so gave up. Thanks, i definitively dont want to lose my changes!

Also, re: OP, i managed to get the bloodline to work now
