Had this question too regarding land units...

too bad if its hardcoded

I wanted to enlarge (and decrease own stats) HQs to contain lots of support Brigades like AT, Art to act as Corps/Army Reserve Unit. They should stay in second line but be a bit more versatile.

would also mod it so that ONLY HQs can use railroad artillery ( i modded it before to remove it from infantry and put it into GAR, for i felt that no combat division should be encumbered with this brigade - just their intrinsic security detail).

'Fraid the number of brigades per unit is still hardcoded, because it proved very tricky to change. We still have the ambition, but need to do some other stuff first.

This is actually easy; at the top of each division type 'unit' file is a list of valid brigades - just comment out ('#') the rail artillery for all but HQs.

any chance then of having Light Cruisers upped to 3 attachments in the interim? Historically Light Cruisers had roughly the same size and capability as "Heavy" cruisers, the only real difference being whether they carried 12-15 6 incj guns or 8-9 8 inch guns. Any residual advantage to heavies would still be represented by the fact that they use capital attachemsnts rather than screen. (though setting CAs to use 4 small attachments ibstead 0 3 capital might be even more sensible).

Great. That means that it'll definitely be changed. ;)
