Hello,

I would like to be able to introduce a more advanced AI model for my mod. One that can learn on its own. Has anyone yet done this in another mod?

I was thinking maybe we could introduce an advanced AI player in multiplayer mode if it can't yet be integrated into single player mode.

Regards,
Josh

I've been looking into 'reinforcement learning' but to do this you need access to the hard code in the .exe. I have this for AOD as I'm on the dev team but I don't have the hard code DH. If you want to soft mod the .ai files chatgpt does a good job if you give it a file and say make it more defensive/aggresive etc

HoI has always, from what I could understand, benefitted from the limited or oppositional view of describing events and gameplay decisions from the perspective of the player to decide how to implement the downfall or inertia, and fallout, of those events. The AI, "ai," or whatever may best be a supporting role to the player's bad decisions and to make their highs feel like norms. I can think of German sturmtruppe being tactically replenished in a fierce fight of French ground for months as a factor for "ai" to begin a counter based on the initial loss of life of the German opponent, for example.
