Advice: Defeating JohnMK and Spain

I've never actually seen rampant flaming on these boards. It is a rather hospitable place compared to just about any other gaming forum in existance.

I probably wouldn't respect him either if I hadn't seen him in action. You think he is all talk until he wipes you out. He is no joke at all and so far I have found his suggestions interesting.

I haven't played with Damocles, but JohnMK made easy work of me and he says Damocles is superior to his game so it must be a scary thing indeed.

I don't doubt his abilities. I just question the way he comports himself on this message board. He comes off as very arrogant and without very much honor and humility.

Stretching from the Netherlands to Hungary, I annexed every single German province, converted them all to catholic, and then I annexed all of Poland.

I was this massive white blob that made France look tiny. France and Spain then allied against me. I had 250+ manpower and we were still in the 1500s.

In any case, no one wanted to play anymore because Austria had gotten too powerful. The same thing happened when I was the Ottomans. and when I was France, and he was the Ottomans. He had 150 years to build up before I even entered the game .

Tsk, tsk, i don't remember that game. Anyway, i would kick your ass if i were France and you Austria

The one with me as Russia, and John as OE is true, i played it.

We also played a game when John was Spain, you Brandenburg, i France and Quietus Austria. You got pretty oversized with Brandenburg, but we were allies in that game.


Anyway, i tend to agree. Hit him often, hit him hard, hit him early.

He is recovering? DOW! Oh, no, he is recovering again?DOW!

The first 50 years, if France can equal Spain in it's colonial expansion, it will remain dominant the rest of the game over Spain. Granted, its a fairly risky strategy that can backfire BADLY if most other countries ally with Spain against you and you are not experienced enough to actually beat Spain silly as France...(Which if you're fairly new and you're playing a great Spanish player, can and will happen...Which is just a fact of life).
