I'm having great difficulty in playing my Hearts of Iron2:-Doomsday(plus official patch 1.2), plus CORE 0.25 mod. I thought I'd start off with Turkey, to get used to things and get a chance to grab the Baku oil fields once Germany attacks the Soviet Union, but the supply number seems to drop dramatically at a constant rate- I've tried various trades with Austria(the only European country that had the necessary resources), to the point where the supply gain/loss was at +0.0 on the righthand side of the production screen, but the supply number at the very top of the screen kept on being reduced by 1 every few seconds, which is very odd. If I bring the slider on the righthand side of the production screen to the point where supply is no longer being drastically reduced(where the number becomes white), I get a sharp drop in cash due to a greatly lowered consumer products production, so either I'm faced with a total loss of all supply stores in a couple of years time or I go bankrupt due to lack of cash within less than a year. This makes no sense at all. Either way, I'm also faced with a cripplingly slow advance in my research/technology screen(I use both the research-team slots available), and, likely as not, will only be able to get some necessary industrial economic imrpovement by 1939, but not be able to improve the performance of various troops.

Anyway, the only solution I can think of, right now, is to disband all my troops, consisting of various reserves and cavalry. This would presumably prevent the haemorrhaging of my supply points. But it doesn't solve the future problems I'll be getting in 1939 onwards when I'll have to build back the army I disbanded in 1936.

Can anyone give me some idea as to how to set the sliders, and arrange matters so that I can play Turkey well into WWII without ending up bankrupt or being forced to delay scientific research etc.? I thought of just letting the AI solve everything, but it automatically sets things so that there's no loss of cash due to a high consumer goods setting, but allows the supply points to drop like a stone.
